cYtOsTaTiCa: How did you manage to organise such a big event with the best European clans?
Zarkof: Well, like the name says itself, it is not our first event. Our previous event already had some top teams like 4Z, Unmatched, E9, SK, ... But I have to admit that Lan Arena 7 is having a quite stronger skill level. I suppose that the "Invitational" feature helped us much to provide more will and motivation from teams to attend the event. We also know that Quake 3 is getting close to its lifetime end. We know that as soon as games like ut2k3, doom3, quake4, .. will come out, the competition level in Quake 3 won't be as big and interesting at it is now. So it is somehow quite the good moment for such tournament to happen as it is bringing the competition to it's apogee.

hOly: How did you get sponsors, was that hard?
Zarkof: Well, getting sponsors is never an easy task, but our past events brought us some experience in handling that.

cYtOsTaTiCa: Will the gamers have an internet connection during their stay at Paris?
Zarkof: We would have liked to provide that to the 1200 gamers but it would mean to have a quite huge connection (like 155mbits) which is not easy to get in France. For the moment, we provide an internet connection to the press, broadcasts (gtv, hltv,..), demos uploads, database mirroring, ... and it is already using quite alot of bandwidth =)

hOly: Are you already ready to welcome all gamers? Is everything ready for friday?
Zarkof: Well, as the event starts friday morning, everything will be ready thursday evening.

cYtOsTaTiCa: Will there be a room to have a drink, like in the Quake-pub in Rotterdam? :>
Zarkof: The event place is quite huge. However, there will be a bar in the middle of the main room with some plasma screens so that people can have a drink and still follow the competitons.

hOly: Why did you choose only 3 maps to the maplist, not 4 or even 5?
Zarkof: To make it short, a 3 maps list fits better in a best-of-three match format and provides more steady competitive results.

cYtOsTaTiCa: What clan is your favorite of the clans which attend LanArena7?
Zarkof: I don't really have a favorite team. But, personnally, I'm always happy when some 'less-known' team makes some trouble in the competition by unexpectingly beating a top team. I know teams like QPO, esu(IC), forZe and 519 are favorites, but i'd prefer to go for a Northstars, Regeneration or Vikings. The true question is to wonder what top team is not going to pass the group stage =)

hOly: What about demos ? Will you post them all at lan-arena.com?
Zarkof: Yes, you will be able to download demos on www.lan-arena.com

cYtOsTaTiCa: Will the people be able to see the matches at GTV or listen to them at LA7-radio?
Zarkof: There will be GTVs and there should be a shoutcast radio. We have arranged the tournament schedules to avoid having more than 2 matches at the same time during the play-offs. This should make it easier for everybody to watch most of the games.

hOly: Did you invite OdB Production - SnoiD and Big G to make a movie from LAN ARENA7 ?
Zarkof: We have alot of people coming to do coverage ranging from general press to gamer's sites. We would surely like to see them but we can't invite everybody =)

cYtOsTaTiCa: What would you do if a clan doesn't show up?
Zarkof: Well, I've been managing team replacements these last days, it would be quite too bad if a team wouldn't show up as there are some teams that would have liked to come.

hOly: Are we going to see any chicks carring drinks and snacks ?
Zarkof: I wish =)

cYtOsTaTiCa: Paris is well known as the "city of les moulin rouges femmes", will they attend the LAN too?
Zarkof: Well, honestly, we asked to the Moulin Rouge if they could field a q3tdm team, but unfortunatly they couldn't.. I didn't get why.. maybe you know?

hOly: What would you do if some player/team get drunk, and wouldn't know what is going on ? :D
Zarkof: We might bring them to the Moulin Rouge?! =)
