it means syncerror is such a moronoob that he doesnt understand the importance of gl in quake. i guessed this before that gl is missing just because when sync plays on his level with fellow tier 1 noobs they all spam eachoter with nades so it started to annoy him.

Sync is not a moron. Any game that has this much ammo, plus a char based around GL, doesn't take a lot of thinking to imagine a spam issue...

and yeah sometimes I miss the GL when Im retreating through some doors. Been part of Quake for a long time.

The only legitimate reason I can think of why they got rid of nades (in a game that, as it stands, only has one useful projectile weapon) is that that function is performed by the area denial abilities of some champs, like Slash and Sorlag. If everyone could do it, those abilities wouldn't be so great anymore.

There are many things they could do to limit spam if there were a GL in the game.

By the way, those abilities are far more obnoxious than any spam I've ever encountered in Quake.

The importance of GL in Quake is to finish people with style, nothing more, nothing less.

Or y'know, area denial without having to use Sorlag's or Slash's abilities.

Except you can make traps with it, use it for jumps, spam areas or pickups without exposing yourself, spam it behind when +backing...
