OK guys... can you help me out? I have a G400 and a WMO... so far the WMO feels worse to me than the G400 - its DPI is only 400 and even with sensitivity cranked up to 2.5x the normal (10, default is 4) I have problems with undershooting my target... e.g with LG/MG the crosshair often stops just before the target whereas with the G400 everything feels spot on with 800 DPI and default sensitivity.

So what is your verdict G400 vs WMO? Both good mice... but which is better?

ingame sens at 10 is just BS, don't get hyped for the WMO.
it doesn't suit your needs at all.

all the WMO has is its shape and weight, everything else is shit:
cable is shit
build quality is shit
mousewheel is shit
buttons are shit
mousefeet are shit
and the sensor isn't perfect either.

The only really shitty thing about the wmo is its cable, while its sensor is awesome.

I'd buy a g400 or a new zowie.

Time and skill learning isn't, plus the potential best result is still worse than a good cable anyway.

2 years ago I'd have agreed on that the wmo is the #1 bestest thing since the invention of the wheel. Nowadays there's really no reason not to just buy a better mice, on every regard, for less than what ins eats at mcdonalds every week.

wtf are you talking about. build quality is good, mousewheel and buttons are fine, feet are good with most modern pads like cloth.

Sensor is still good for todays standards, especially compatibility with surfaces and lift-off. and it was the first optical mouse suitable for gamers. Yes, first. logi mx series came second iirc.

Mousewheel is shit. Well i have weapon binds on mwheelup/mwheeldown and it is impossible to play on wmo. Accidentally switching is a default.

Both have great sensors, are cheap and reliable, but the shape is completely different.

I'd almost go with g400 now because it's 1000hz out of the box and you get replacements from Logi if anything goes wrong.

he wants to play at the speed of sens 10@400dpi, but sens 10 is garbage so he needs more DPI to lower the sens and still having the same speed of the cursor.

the point is, you cannot raise the ingame sens unlimited high or you will suffer from unsmooth cursor behavior or even pixelskipping.
so with high DPI you can keep the ingamesens low, but still have the desired fast cursorspeed.

if u use sens4@800dpi wouldn't it be 8@400 dpi? if you undershoots even at 10, ur not using 800dpi on the g400 /thread

Thats my point... its not the same... upping the sensitivity too high just makes it feel very unnatural. I prefer default settings and prefer to only change the DPI of the mouse.

Just buy a g400 the shape might be weird but you'll get used to it. I actually think shape is the best for palm of claw and the rubber sides are nice cause once you warm up it clings to your fingers and the lip on the side makes it easier to pick up. :)
