just I am writing my config all over again. But I am a bit stuck with the graphic settings, is there anyone can identify this difference with commands?

-second one is smooth but crosshair looks blurry. I want smooth one but crosshair also needs to be solid.

-in the first one on the ground there are some waves, I really dont want them

-fastsky is ok

-how to turn these lights off?

btw if anyone interested in my hud, just tell me. it is just combination of some huds from pros.

I am now writing it like easy to edit versions. But first I need to figure out what is this commands. There are some commands from pros, you know I need to see what they are doing.

my real cfg is the first one, but I really hate that waves on the ground
and I want to shut that lights down

I think you got to play with:

- r_mapoverbrightbits
- r_intensity
- the bloom options.

- r_mapoverbrightbits is 1 for both
- r_intensity is 1.2 for first, 1 for second but not effective about these waves. (I tried it)

I think waves are about r_overbrightbits command, i made it 0, then it worked, but still the crosshair is not same, this really bothers me

The crosshair arent the same, because you use different crosshair for different weapons, and in the first picture you use rockets (cg_drawcrosshair 2) and in the second rail (cg_drawcrosshair 7)

If you dont want to use different crosshair, delete the cg_drawcrosshair command from the bindings.

i think he meant that he wants his crosshair to always look sharp, not blurry(like in the 2nd picture) :)

You should play with r_texturemode , r_enablepostprocess , r_simplemipmaps.
Postprocess 0 and simplemipmaps 0 can make xhairs unsharp on lower resolutions.

I think I figured it out,
r_overbrightbits 0 makes waves gone, but the xhair will be unsharp
r_overbrightbits 1 makes waves and xhair is more sharp.

I need to choose between :(

Or you could try r_overbrightbits 0 with r_mode 9.

edit:
I assume you are on r_mode 5. Also try r_texturemode gl_linear. Or set "textures' quality" or "mip maps quality" to high in your graphics drivers.
This blur looks like low quality mip maps.

My poor and old monitor just can run 120hz with 640x480 (samsung 793DF), and it is actually dying right now, after upgrading it will be the first thing I do.

ok as far as I see my monitor can hand 800x600 @ 114hz, but I made it 110
And still r_overbrightbits 1 is more visible crosshair. I wish there is a command which sharpens only crosshair.

Now checking texture qualities

You can test this with gl_linear - it's the sharpest you can get although with mip mapping quality will be better.
I got used to slightly blury crosshair with overbrightbits 0. I even play at 640x480 because of performance although 800x600 is much better.

Oh yeah thats allways the problem but you can get a pretty sharp xhair/gfx with overbrightbits 0 ,just a pain to get there :) And ye when i use overbrightbits 1 i sometime have to change crosshairbrightness because it gets to bright and fuzzy :P

r_picmip 6 (first) vs r_picmip 7 (second). most people switched to 7 in ql.

"GL_NEAREST_MIPMAP_NEAREST - Nearest neighbor interpolation with mipmapping for bilinear hardware. Mipmapping will blend objects that are farther away than the resolution that they are set as."

If i stand in bigger distance , items blend, blury, not sharp. I am using 640x480 , but with antialiasings, map is smooth and nice.

r_ignorehwgamma 1/0 changes the xhair "blur" , but it screws up the gamma binds (for me at least)

edit: also resolution iirc, the higher the more solid the xhair colour
