I hope it is over. Keep in mind though the dedication the team seems to have to making it succeed. Succeed of course not by making it a good game, but by throwing money at people with tournaments.

scene took a dive in NA because the "North American ESWC Qualifier" run by plantronics decided to use only CS:GO, SC2 and DOTA. There's really nothing else to play for in NA, so most just stopped playing.

The game seems to only be popular in France and that's it. I see other euro teams but I mostly see french ones.

The game was fine until teams started playing extremely passive and three people would sit on the pole. Fazz is right though, every update seemed to ruin the game more and more competitively.

You're good at joining bandwagons.

I'd keep playing if it was active in NA and had tournaments in NA.

Pros leaving a game not designed for pro-gaming, what's a surprise.

You do not even need to be a pro given the game does not even come close to replicating UT2004.

I just find it weird how certain quake pros were being overly supportive towards it last month.

But reality seems to be sinking in now, that playing games you dislike is soul destroying. Even if you had been offered an incentive to be positive towards it. Its not worth it.

Because money and players were there.
They beleived this "new fast PC" could be the new FPS on the e-sport scene and replace the dead QL.

But it seems that even QL is stronger than the young SM.

But soon, they will have to choose a new game, or stop pro-gaming. QL won't live for a long.

for quake pros shootmania is like when u see a 100$ note lying on the ground. do you bow down for it, or walk over and let the next person pick it up?

obv, they see the game is pure shit. i mean its not like it needs a little finetuning or anything, its shit deep down in the core concept, but i guess its better to keep their mouth shut if they wanna pick that free money up in tournaments.

lvl^ peaked at about 500 viewers for the showmatch.

I actually find the game very entertaining, especially in Siege mode. However this is not an esport mode like Elite claims to be.

I don't know if the game will be a success or not, the new generation of FPS gamers is different from ours. But with great marketing and heavy prizes tourneys, NADEO & UBISOFT could dig ShootMania a hole in the esport scene. Turns out this is not what they intend to do untill the game is released. I wish they put more effort into this Beta and listen to what gamers say.
