Bah, but QLIVE is the best! I don't want to RESORT to lesser games. I did that with quakeworld in order to still be able to play some TDM after the qlive scene died. Its just a weird feeling having to resort to some other shit even tho the best shit is sitting right here, and should be like 10000000000x more popular than it is. >:|

QL is king to me! (probably cause I started with QL) =)

edit: part of it is cause ql has nice/new/fresh/exciting maps to play and qw has the same old terrible maps that have been whored to death since day 1. I only really liked dm2 :x

you might find warsow to be a better duel game, personally I think it's better (better movement, better weapon respawn, item respawn, weapon balance, and it will be fresh for you so it will probably be more fun)

lol. duel i think is the worst mode in wsw. its like a watered down version of cpm basically. the ammo system totally ruins it.

you obviously haven't played the newest version, shit like strong/weak ammo has been removed.

so its basically just cpm now?

cpm with dash, rebalanced game, one or two more weapons, and a slightly different spawning scheme (ra,ya,mh spawn at 0:15, not when the map starts)

You can always try and ask in the pickup channel but I don't know how many people there really play duel.

A friend of mine did spam the join link in that channel and others. I don't think ANY of them duel.
I don't even bother idling in that channel anymore since they refuse to play on central servers where people from all over NA can ping equally more or less. It's turned into #qlpickup.va cause people are afraid to play with a 50-70 ping, something I've done my entire 4 years in Quake. ntm all they ever play is ctf, I don't think I'd be playing much in there even if it were on centralized servers.
Would rather duel :x

I think it really depends on the game, in all honesty. Some seem to use it more than others.

im not exaggerating here. Keep in mind VA/NY/GA/TX are all 100+ ping and don't even showup on my server browser. It definitly adds to the ghost town feeling. I have much easier time finding duels in qw right now, and thats fucking crazy. This games community has huddled itself in the bottom right corner of the continent... Remember when their was a west scene like 4 years ago that fizzled out?? (half the server locs arent even there anymore) Central feels just as dead now.

I live near-ish to higgs and I have a very similar experience in QL, although I am partly to blame I have irregular playing habits :)

quite a lot of people would play you on il or toronto servers. just find out who they are and add them as friends. best way to find games.

NA QL community is so fucking lazy. Toxic place. I could understand asking the community to do something difficult like code software for you or something like that, but to ask others to make an IRC channel for you?
