yeah, cant deny the aim advantage of low fov, same for rail. however, as has been noted, movement and fight awareness suffers, so as all things, its a tradeoff. I think it's about the amount of the information you have to work with, but being the right distance (closer) to the screen is important too.

the optimal solution would have fov only change upon firing, and from what I've gathered this is possible

I tried the varying fovs per weapon using the fox config. I think just being used to one fov trumps the different scenarios. 110 is really fine for me, except some longish distances.

I do that with lg and mg, seemed good.

in the shaft and normal aliases you can also change sense, accel and whatever else u want, while u fire. I only change fov. Irrelevant commands have been removed.
