foobar2000. You can mod the shit out of this motherfucker and have your own media player that kicks ass. It's also the fastest around. I'd recommend 0.9.4 as 1.0 and onwards don't have all the plugins yet.

Stuff you can have with a bit of tweaking : Cover Flow / automated Album Art download / last.fm scrobbling ...

MediaMonkey hands down. There's a little trick involving replacing a .dll of your MediaMonkey program files to extend your free trial indefinitely. Or you could just torrent the full version.

So far I tried winamp and foobar and I didn't like either of them. The winamp media library is too tiny and it crashed after every synch. Foobar was too complicated, I couldn't find a way to have a global view of all the playlists and tracks on the ipod.

I need something that is exactly like iTunes...

Moving to the next ones: mediamonkey, musicbee and aimp. I'll let you know as I'm sure you're all thrilled :)

I don't hate iTunes, it works perfectly fine on Apple computers. It's just iTunes on windows that sucks hard.

So the problem is not that I'm an apple user, it's that I'm not _enough_ an Apple user :)

itunes on osx is pretty good. On windows I use winamp.

idk i find itunes better now days for windows then it used to be, i only use it to transfer to my ipod touch tho, otherwise i just use winamp v2 cant stand the newer ones
