Hi.

I currently use a mini SS QcK with an MX518. I love how thin it is, how soft the surface feels, and how improved my playing in QL is with it since binning my old blue allsop raindrop. It obviously tracks well with the 518. But after 2 months it's already showing 'shine' where the mouse has glided the most, kind of like when black trousers get ironed too much and go shiny. The perimeter of the pad where the mouse hasn't been is of course unaffected and has a 'slightly' less friction 'brand new' feel, so I'm disappointed in the fast wear of this pad. Also, it still has two ripples in it from when it was rolled up. Can't feel them, but no idea if it affects performance. Thought it would be completely flat after 2 months of everyday use. Anyway, I'm now after a larger mat.

I've heard great things abut the Puretrak pads. The Puretrak Stealth, made from the same material as the Talent would be a perfect size for me at 15" x 10", but it means importing to the UK, which I'm prepared to do if it's worthwhile.

I'm also extremely interested in the Everglide Titan Fnatic edition, in orange and white, I mean, look at this video, it looks gorgeous (to me anyway). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1t9KiYye0k

Hard to get hold of the Everglide fnatic. Play.com were selling it for £12.99 and still have it on their site but with no buy it button, so I've emailed them to find out if it's still for sale. It's bloody huge though, would take up so much deskspace, much like the Alpha and the QcK+. Everglide Titan is supposedly identical to the Razer Mantis which was made by Everglide.

Also interested in the Goliathus speed which is the easiest and cheapest to buy, very readily available. But my concern is that since Razer have stopped paying to licence Fibretek technology from Everglide, (they apparently made the Razer Mantis which I've never tried, but top dueller sl1mer just bought the mantis speed and thinks it's great), and make the Goliathus themselves now, that the Goliathus may, or may not be, slightly inferior in quality, both tracking and/or durability.

What is your opinion of these mats? Are either the Puretrak or Everglide worth the extra cost, time and hassle to buy over the Goliathus which I could have tomorrow for £8.99? Durability is a major factor here in my decision. Other than durability, do the Goliathus, Titan, Stealth and QcK all have similar precision?

Cheers guys,
FarQ
