Guess I should've mentioned this before - I use a 65cm/360 ingame sensitivity, that being the main reason for the change from the G3.
I have tried other mice too, ( MS WMO 1.1a, MS IE 3.0, Razer Krait ( only 10 mins of play, though ) and the Razer Copperhead to name a few) but I find Logitech's MX300 having the best shape / durability. ( both Razers suffered cord problems after 4 months, the Krait just in the use of my friend playing CS ( eww... ))
After a quick look in Sujoy's great ESR MouseScore 2007, I saw that the G1 ain't actually a bad choice after all.
Nevertheless, I'm looking for a MX300. If I find that it's nearly impossible to get a working one, I'll start looking for a MX500, and if that doesn't work I'm gonna buy a Razer Diamondback 3G ( suggestion by mercur1, gonna look into it )

why not try an MX310?

mx310's sensor is not responsive enough for my sensitivity. I've got a friend who uses it and recommended it for me too. I

The MX310 uses the same sensor that the MX300 does.

I really don't know anymore, I asked a friend of mine ( who tested the MX310 on low sensitivities for me ( apparently on 125hz only, he's gonna test it on 500/1000 tomorrow ) ) about it, and he's quite convinced about it. I just don't like the looks nor the shape.

Trust me, they're the same sensor. If you crank them to 500 or 1000hz they'll perform like there's no tomorrow just like the mx300. If you go and read through the Mousescore 2007 review for it, you'll notice that at 125hz, the MX300/500 suck it up something fierce for someone such as yourself (crazyass lowsens guy), but if you crank the polling rate, you're good as gold.

and G1 didn't react to USB Rate increase at all.

Well I guess your next best bet would be to get either an MX500 or MX518.

comparisons were done, i had both and they are no way alike. If you have the hands of a small child, it's probably perfect.

I have a G3 and the MX300 and I much prefer the G3.

It cannot keep up with the speed I use my mouse with. It starts doing strange movements whenever I RJ or move my mouse even at medium speeds ( medium for me would be quite high for high sensitivity players ) . Check out MouseScore 2007 by Sujoy if you don't get what I'm saying.

how do you manage to rj with that sens?

With a mouse that could track my movements, I wouldn't do anything that you don't when you rj, just faster. ( but with my current mouse, the Logitech G3, I have to use sensitivity of 28cm/360 to be able to rj and play properly )

you're bound to run out of pad when rjing with that sens cause I sometimes run out of mine and my sens is twice as high + large mousepad.

He uses 65cm/360

G3 is completely ruined by the placement of sidebuttons. It's amongst the uncomfortable mouses I've tried because the sidebutton is like having your ring finger on a tiny stone all the time.

I have a mx310 right here with me. It doesn't skip even if i flick it quickly. 400 DPI too without drivers.

That said, the shape is quite different from the mx300. It also weighs too heavy for its size IMHO.

The G1 would be the most suitable replacement for your case. Slightly high lift off distance, but largely similar to the mx300.

As the days pass by, my hope of ever getting a working MX300 start to vanish, little by little.
Just gotta hope Logitech starts making good mice again, instead of useless shit with laser sensor? ( G-series come to mind.... )

From now on, I'm still looking for the MX300, but also the MX500.
Incase neither cannot be acquired, I'll take further actions.

after taking another look at the mx300, i'd recommend the microsoft wmo or intellimouse 1.1
use them on 500hz, haven't done me wrong
i also use a really low sens(35cm for 360) with a good amount of accel(0.8)

Both WMO and IE ( thought you must've meant the WMO 1.1 and IE 3.0 ; ) ) are indeed great mice. But they don't quite cut it. I have tested both, and neither of them won't keep up with my mouse movements. ( my 65/360 is nearly twice as much as your 35/360, good thing you can play with them. )

Krait. You can get a mouse bungee or some duct tape (like I did), so the cord doesn't get fkd up. I've been using the mouse for over a year now and nothing's wrong with the cord or anything else in it. My sens is a tad higher than yours (25cm/360), but the mouse never skips, whereas the G3 from Logitech would go batshit and skip on the same pad when doing rjs etc.

too bad newegg doesn't ship to EU, they had some mx500's a while back, actually ordered one for myself, didn't like it and went back to my 1.1, and gave the mx500 to a friend.

err not true... it's like the most used mouse for CS players... which use much lower sensitivity in general than quake players.

anyways man, no offense but if you really need your sens to be that low to be able to aim, you must not be too good and if i were you i'd try to pay less attention to what mouse or mousepad i'm using and more on how to play the game.

I believe all Microsoft mice used in gaming ( WMO, IE 1.1 and 3.0 ) have the same engine. ( maybe be wrong, but it still can't be as good as the mx300, otherwise it would've been in MouseScore )

+ I have no interest in Microsoft mice 'cause they tend to break easily ( in my use atleast ), no matter how cheap they are, I can't be arsed to buy another one every fucking 2 months. ( and the shape of MX300 is just perfect for my hand. )
