ok so I decided not to buy a desktop pc (haven't had one for about 1.5 years now, still have a laptop though) for a while after what happened to Q4 and apparently now to UT3 as well. I'm sick of being used as a beta-tester eventhough I payed 50 bucks for a "finished" game.
that's why I've been playing cod4 on my 360 for about two weeks now. It's my first ever FPS on a console and so far I really like it. of course it's no UT, QW, Q2 or Q3 in regards to gameplay and/or movement etc, but I'm definitely enjoying it a lot more than q4 and all that other crap like ut2kx. it's been a long long time since a game (especially a FPS) kept me in front of the screen for hours.

but I'm really having problems learning the maps since a lot of the maps look alike, especially the desert-maps like backlot, strike or crossfire. everytime I respawn I have absolutely no clue where I am. the radar is nice for locating enemies, but is no help finding my way around the map. so far I really like overgrown, downpour, vacant and pipeline and I hate bloc and ambush.

I wish you could somehow turn off the killcam. that's just annoying. I'm also missing a bigger FOV and cg_gun 0 :/ but that's the price you pay for playing on a console I guess.

oh well, and of course I suck pretty bad. I guess there's just too much quake/UT in me. I'm happy about every game that I finish with a positive balance. and how damn fast do you have to throw those grenades back lol. I die every time.

anyway, if you have the chance don't be afraid to give console-gaming a try, you might find something that I, and I'm sure a lot of other people, have been missing in recent PC games: fun.
