Schedule: Passed

The next ESWC Grand Final will be organized from 5 to 8 July 2007 in Paris Expo Hall 5.

In order to attend to the final, all champions will have to qualify through ESWC national selections from January to June 2007. Preliminaries will involve more than 500,000 gamers worldwide on games as Counter-Strike (� Valve Software), Warcraft (� Blizzard), Quake (� ID Software), Pro Evolution Soccer (� Konami), Trackmania (� Nadeo), console and mobile games. Official disciplines and tournaments (games versions, hardware platforms, formats and rules) will be announced on http://www.eswc.com/.

I saw it, but it looks like the Gaylord convention center (YAWN!) if it were about twice as large. The Bercy, however, looks totally awesome, so I dunno why they couldn't have picked it again for their venue or something even larger...

as replied, on ggl by Mat Dallon : the reason is they are searching for the perfect place. The difference between champs and public was too big in Bercy, and that's something they didn't liked. they are trying each year different stadium/hall until they find the one that fits perfectly.

I hope this one will bring an interaction between gamers & specs. Could be cool.

which players are going to ESWC for the US? I read on the eswc site that there are 2 slots. I'm guessing that the US players would have to find their own funds for getting there too (FOR QUAKE 4)

The top 4 seems easy to guess : avek, garpy, cooller, maybe forever.
Bah it's single elim so there can always be surprises. Someone just needs to knock out avek and garpy can be the winner.
