Shub makaveli ? thats funny , Shub was the EDL champion and from Norway, But makaveli beeing the best american at the time was there to play the best from EDL .

Great game but I don't like it because after it Maka went into ultra +back mode vs Shub. Without this practice Shub would have destroyed him.

Not entirely sure of that, in this game it seemed like he just gave up and started rushing over and over hoping to get lucky and break control once. Clearly he was underestimating Blue. Those q2dm3 games he played against Shub he played very very well though, basically a smart and disciplined game.

One of the biggest positives Makaveli got from playing vs Thresh and immortal in all those practice games is learning how to play against both a smart opponent and a very aggressive player with great aim.

A couple things about my mindset going into this game.

Prior to this match I was absolutely destroying ever single EDL player in practice games constantly. In fact, no player was able to get closer than 15 frags during my practice games. This left me feeling supremely confident heading into another "practice" game against Blue. However, Blue was very talented and I underestimated him completely and he caught me by surprise. I was expecting a similar skill level to the other guys I was playing with but soon realized that Blue and Shub were a cut above the rest.

Essentially, I accepted that I was going to lose this game and was looking forward to playing him on q2dm3 and getting ready for Shub.

I would have liked to rematch him after I played Shub, but Blue said no when I asked him.

On a personal note: Shub actually came to California to visit for a month shortly after this event. We played many 1 on 1's that we should have recorded. Without the pressure of "tournament play," our matches were much more exciting than our official games in Sweden. We were never able to win 2 in a row against each other more than once out of 20 games or so while he was here.

Sounds like some great demos that never were.

Yeah, I knew about Shub's visit. IIRC there were some tdm demos with you and Shub posted online, but unfortunately no duels.
