there was a firmware fix for high cpu usage, that was fixed.
nevertheless, it has some tracking issues
also, LOD is quite high.
i remember I read some troubles regarding ADNS-3090, but the page is being edited by skylit atm.

in my opinion, sensor is placed quite far from the center of the mouse -> different LOD depending on your wrist position. but that's just a nub's opinion ;)

Most optical sensors(if not all) have difficulty in tracking on glossy surfaces. So don't be disappointed with salmosa.
You should always first chose mouse then compatible mousepad.

Sensor is in the back yes, but most mice have sensor shifted toward front or back and here its not extreme.
Example is wmo with senor in front and not perfectly centered.

1 this is a cm spawn (i thought it was written big enough on the photo =P)

3 it makes a difference to me, due to the ring finger gap on the shell

I know it is spawn here, but wmo was my example of mouse with sensor not perfectly centered.
Its strange that it has problems on all of the pads, because many users report it as one of the best, flawless sensor.
I'm not going to argue about shape but im still convinced there has to be something wrong with your spawn then.

well, it works fine with my goliathus speed
it has some troubles with my qck (too much ash, maybe =P)

No I'm not Asian. Startup/boot bug (disable legacy support etc. dosen't fix it), sleep bug.

Salmosa is an awesome mouse. I love mine.

It doesn't really matter which one you gonna buy. I would suggest that buy the one that is more comfortable with your grip - but this is really a subjective matter, so I can't give you better advice.

The asian version is smaller and lighter and it doesn't have the mechanical polling rate switch like its elder sister, only the cpi-switch. Putting these physical differencies aside, they're pretty much the same mouse.

Where can you even get a Salmosa in the USA? They're discontinued and the only ones I found on eBay were the asian editions. Too small for me though.

how is the shape of salmosa like? is it as weird as abyssus?

I have ordered the asian version of salmosa after I destroyed my abyssus (I wanted some similiar small and light mouse)... When I opened the box I was like WTF this thing is so small... It feels like you were holding a box of matches not a mouse. I couldn't get used to it even after few weeks.
I found myself constantly lifting it up during lg fights (it's so light you can't even feel it); it was losing the track and I was getting frustrated all the time. It could be a decent mouse if modded with a couple of additional weights, otherwise it's just uncomfortable to use if you're well um.. not from asia.
Buy the normal salmosa imo if you really need to.
