of all those maps phrantic an focal point would be the last ones i'd ditch

and gothic rage + wargrounds kicked instead

i just played all of them a few times and i like gothicrage+wargrounds the least for duel (to "wide" and big for my taste.. maybe good layouts for 2on2)

those are prem/pro maps thats the main reason they are not played
its ID failure to make all new maps prem/pro content

Hektik got played. So did Toxicity. They're all just bad maps that aren't included in any tourny pools so nobody wants to learn them.

Sorrow, Phrantic, Focal Point

I think sorrow is actually a decent map for duel, I just dont think anyone has bothered to learn it because its a bit confusing at first.

Focal point is fun, but feels like it needs more armor.

That's one with horrible layout and rushed conversion from q3... this map would actually be fun with a different layout and more dl jumps! (RG could even work on it)

Concrete Palace is the most boring piece of shit I've ever played.

They may not be competitive. But hey, they`re not bad!

And they are fun. :)

And that`s all that matters.

Anyway, I would keep phrantic, CP , Focal Point and Solid.

I would choose:

Devilish
Sorrow
Concrete Palace
Gothic Rage
Solid

You can move extremely quickly around devilish, making the map feel much smaller than it actually is. I also really want to see some good players on Sorrow, it deserves a chance. The same goes for Concrete Palace. Solid has been tried and is a decent 2v2 map more than anything else. Am unsure about Gothic Rage, but its going to be better than Focal Point or Phrantic (which is so slow and boring in QL...)

Edit: I would try out wargrounds over solid/gothic rage actually :)

Whatever happened to gothic rage? I thought there was good things being said about it when it first came out, but it never seemed to catch on.

Gothic Rage was originally a Q3 map by Quaker-X, released a decade ago:

As you can see it got lots of great reception (much friendlier than QL or ESR, no offense) in Q3, but it got bashed senselessly in QL.

And it actually makes a decent duel map. It`s actually no bigger than dm6 or ztn, and it has no RG or RA which makes for interesting games. The only really bad area is the long hallway in the middle, but that`s forgivable.

It had a lot of changes made to it for sure, but it`s still recognizable and some are for the better of gameplay - the water makes it more dangerous to go for MH and you have to aim carefully to RJ off the grate, otherwise you`re toast.
