Analysis:
Mesta: CD is a team that could cause surprises. With two players that have a strong VQ3 TDM experience (higgs and davis), their chances are right there. Their lack of experience in TDM CPM will be backed up by a very nice aim, an experience with each other and strong DM skills. And with the help of the more experienced player in CPM that are hyurer and ckrim, it’s definetely a good line-up. Some of them have been spotted playing pickups and even scrims. They’ve learned the maps enough to not be lost on them. They might face issues on maps without rail.
xero: I’m unsure just how well this team will do, they have the fragging skills to compete but will their collective skin be thick enough if there is a heavy initial onslaught? Again, this team should do better on open maps where their fragging skills can play a bigger role.
wonko: Solid team, built around the QL experience of davis and higgs from team nx and the CPM experience of ckrim aka krazy and hyurer aka heuer. If the team name is any indication as to their strategy, they will produce some surprises against otherwise good teams which lack team play. Watch out for davis’ railgun.
Prediction:
Mesta: CD could very well much go top 8, even if CPM isn’t their usual cup of tea.
xero: I think that might be pushing it a bit, but I think if they play consistently, and make the playoffs, they could start to make some noise. We have seen VQ3 clans come to CPM in the past, and those who have stuck around and collected experience have excelled.
ShadyAK: I'm not that acquainted with the NA CPM scene, but having VQ3 veterans in their team is a definite bonus, as TDM is the gametype with the most common amount of interchangable skills between VQ3 and CPM (in comparison with CTF and duel where movement and item spawns make things a lot harder to get acquainted with), they could offer a few surprising results, especially against NA opponents, as there won't be fluctuations in performance as a result of ping.
