Having a hard time finding the right sens. (19 comments)
Posted by RentoN @ 01:29 CDT, 13 July 2017 - iMsg
Since I started playing QC I changed my sensitivity at least 100 times. I rarely manage to play more than a couple of games before deciding I need to try different settings.
So far the only conclusion all this testing has brought me to is that I'm definitely better with accel. Without accel my aim is jittery with anything less than 25cm/360 and that's already too low for me to keep up with the fast pace of the game.
So I tried using 25cm with some accel, but when I use enough accel to make 180 turns comfortable it also makes my aim jittery again, so I tried lower sens with more accel and tried to find a balance.

Right now my go to settings when I'm not testing something else are:
0.865 sens, 1600DPI, 0.012 accel. But 0.012 accel translated to 400DPI is 0.192... that's insanely high isn't it?

You guys have any tips how I can figure out the best sens/accel combination for me?
What are the common settings?
I tested some of the settings from the thread below, but they seem to be out-dated/not suited for QC.

QC pro's mouse settings? (49 comments)
Posted by RentoN @ 13:09 CDT, 12 July 2017 - iMsg
Does anyone have the mouse settings of any well known pros in QC?

I know toxic uses 1.275 @ 1600DPI, ~20cm/360.
I heard rapha uses 16cm, but not sure if he uses accel on top of that.

So you do guys know the settings of any other pros?

Question about accel and povohat's driver. (23 comments)
Posted by RentoN @ 12:01 CDT, 12 July 2017 - iMsg
I was wondering if it'll be allowed to use povohat's accel driver at quake LANs on in leagues/tournaments?

I'm kinda torn right now if I should use povohat's accel or just deal with the currently terrible in-game accel.
I don't want to get used to something I might not be allowed to use in the long run.

And does anyone happen to know if anyone competing in the QWC qualifiers uses povohat's?
Any well known pros who use it?

Best budget 120/144Hz gaming monitor? (31 comments)
Posted by RentoN @ 15:40 CST, 1 December 2014 - iMsg
Hey,

so I'm looking to buy my first 120/144Hz monitor.
2 problems: I have kind of a low budget ()250€ max) and also not much of an idea what makes a great gaming monitor.

What are your suggestions/recommendations.

What about this one?
http://www.amazon.de/BenQ-XL2411Z-Monitor-Rea...ds=XL2411Z

Stuff that's available on amazon would be great, since I have prime, so fast and free shipping.

Thanks in advance :)

QL Mouse Driver. Need help. (4 comments)
Posted by RentoN @ 09:53 CDT, 9 April 2014 - iMsg
Hi,
so I'm trying to get this thing here to work on my PC
http://teamfortress.tv/thread/5067/?page=1

I followed the steps as described in the guide.
I'm in test mode and signed the driver (moufiltr.sys), which seems to work (it says the NGO signature is ok).
When trying to install the .inf file I get a error message saying something about the signature not beeing right and the mouse cursor locks in place.
This is the error message I get:

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

I'm using Win7 64bit and a Zowie FK (tried other mice though) if that's important.

QL noob looking for tutorials. (15 comments)
Posted by RentoN @ 08:35 CDT, 27 September 2013 - iMsg
Hi.
I'm new to QL and I'm looking for some tutorials/guides (preferably in video form) to help me learn the game faster.
Especially interrested in how the movement works.
I searched youtube for QL guides/tutorial/movement and only crap comes up.
So do you guys know any guides that could help me?

Already watched a bunch of Quakecon finals so I have a basic understanding how the item system works and what are the main weapons, but as far as movement goes I don't know how to do half the stuff they are doing.
