Mouse that fills the palm? (3 comments)
Posted by Gar @ 06:33 CDT, 31 July 2014 - iMsg
The closest mouse I have to what I'm looking for is the Roccat Savu. The palm area is big and round. The peak of the mouse is in the palm area rather than the middle of the mouse like g400 or EC1/EC2. Unfortunately the Savu as a whole is too small for me, so I'm looking for something bigger with a similar shape. Preferably a "perfect sensor" mouse.

The EC2 and EC1 leave the right side of my palm feeling really empty.
The G400 does a better job, but the ridge on the right side and the scroll wheel are just not for me.

Mouse pad for G400s (9 comments)

I need a good mouse pad for the G400s that is preferably ~50cm wide and ~34+cm tall

Preferably with a low LOD so I don't have to use the tape trick

I like the surface of the Goliathus Control, for reference

For low sensitivity players (9 comments)

What do you do with your forearm and elbow? Does it rest on your chair's arm (if so, what parts)? Is it suspended in air?

Do you pivot from a rooted elbow, or does your whole arm move horizontally?

I ask because I've been a very high sensitivity player for ~13 years and I'm trying out low sensitivity. Usually my entire arm is rooted on my chair's arm and all I ever moved was my wrist.

If I keep my arm on the chair then it creates resistance (basically negative acceleration?) after a certain horizontal distance, and if I suspend it in midair then it feels really tiring (though that may be an adjustability thing) and even 25cm/360 feels really high if I do that

I'm using an EC2 but I'm probably going to get an EC1 / DA / G400 / FK / AM to have a bigger mouse

Difficulty choosing a mouse (18 comments)

I need the back of the mouse to rest relaxed in my palm. But I move horizontally by pivoting my wrist, and vertically by protracting/retracting my fingers, so it's like some hybrid of claw/fingertip I think?
I use 10cm/360 with it

Tried an abyssus, but it's too short for me. And I have to hold it an at uncomfortable angle in order for it to move perfectly horizontal (it moves at a diagonal angle up and to the right when moving right otherwise). Anyone ever have a problem with that? Maybe it's because I've used prediction for years.

I'm choosing between these mice

Savu
FK
AM
EC1
EC2

Not sure if there's any other options for me, most other things with perfect sensors seem to be much heavier or clearly made for palming.

currently using a Diamondback 3G

I'm not sure how I can further choose without buying 2 or 3 of these mice.

Desperate for a mouse for my grip (4 comments)

I have been using a Razer Diamondback 3G since 2007
For the last year I've been trying to find a new mouse, with no success. I love the shape of this mouse, but it's probably not ideal for me.

I don't know how my gripstyle falls into place

1) It's mostly just my fingertips that make contact with the mouse and maneuver the mouse. They retract to push the mouse into my palm to move the cursor down, and protract out to move the cursor up.

2) I pivot my wrist left and right to move horizontally. My wrist does not move horizontally unless I do more than a 180 degree turn

3) I use 6/11 in windows with 1800 DP. I have to lower the sensitivity in Team Fortress 2.

4) I don't know how big my hand is, but my pointer finger is 2.75in (7cm)

I'm not sure if this is a claw grip or fingertip grip, or neither.

That said, I mainly play StarCraft II and Team Fortress 2 (Sniper, Scout)

Does anyone have suggestions for mice?
I was eyeing the Abyssus as a fingertip grip mouse, but that was before I realized I don't know if I do have a fingertip grip.

I bought a G9x, but it turned out to be an abomination (off-center sensor results in diagonal horizontal movement when I pivot the mouse, ridiculously stiff scroll wheel, stupid right-click stiffness). I couldn't get on board with its shape either. It's clearly meant to be palmed with either changeable shell.
