OK...not to rain on anyone's parade here, but I have to point a couple things out:

1) r_gamma should be set to some value > 0.3...I can't see a goddamn thing because 90% of the time the gamma is set to "almost, but NOT QUITE total darkness"...it REALLY detracts from any appreciation I might have had for the tricks.

2) First person POV for trickjumps sucks. It's impossible to tell what's actually going on unless you know what trick is being performed for some of the close-to-the-wall rocket/greande jumps. If all your viewer is seeing is wall...don't use first person. Maybe have a small first-person-window in the corner or something, but third person views are much better for appreciating trickjumps for the vast majority of the tricks.

3) r_gamma should be set to some value > 0.3, cuz...it was dark.

4) The transitions...such as they were...between one set of tricks and another REALLY shouldn't be 4-10 seconds of BLACKNESS. I kept thinking the video cut out on me because of the REALLY LONG streches where nothing was going on between sets.

5) Did I mention that it was dark yet? Cuz it was...really dark.

Maybe you should try another player or change the brightness in the codec options/whatever. Some movies look way darker in WMP than e.g. in PowerDVD. I haven't watched it yet, I'm currently unzipping it (I hate zipped movies btw).

nah, zipped / archived movies make sense totally. You can add in additional files for a start, such as demos, codecs, FAQ's, etc. Secondly for most people clicking on a link to an AVI via http will try and open and stream it. YY most places you can right click -> save as, but not if it's hosted on somewhere like filefront, or other such hosters.

My hdd is rather small (tiny ? :D), so it's always difficult to find enough empty space to unzip the movies.

A lot of movies for me look way too dark if I have hardware accel on... Try turning it off and see if that works for you.

yes, it was quite dark, in some maps it was really hard to see where the hell he was and in others i couldn't recognize the map at first

i don't agree first person povs sux, i some cases, like plasma climb, specially when they go fast to one side a spectator view will be good, but little windows really suck (i got mad with the cetus, the next level, movie)
