well the number of participants in the 125fps cups looks good, cant just be the money. but the pricepool seems unsutainable anyway looking at the viewer numbers. its a bit too early to judge though, game isnt even released yet

He played in some sac game yesterday under RLB1057, would be sick to see him qualify for duel though, he had a pretty decent showing against chance from what I remember.

I don't know if this is the best place to post this, but here it is:

Strenx does 90 dmg rail just after switching from zoomed lg. So looks like if you zoom before switching to rail, that adds up to the time you need to zoom with rail for extra dmg, and you get an "instant" 90 dmg shot.

That's a fucking big deal! I don't think that's how developers/players intend it to be, and it can be REALLY exploited by the players: just play zoomed in most of time with any weapon, then switch...

it makes sens to track high lvl games in order to discover inbalances and maybe he s involved in the decission of whom should cast quakecon - in that case tracking the streams makes sens even more.

He's around every now and then on some of the bigger streams, just giving feedback and answering questions. I think it's great that one of the lead tech designers of QC takes time out to do that in my opinion, I'm pretty sure he knows how to manage his time.

Game still has obvious holes for me which really add choke points for zapping my enjoyment of the game in DUEL and FFA.

Performance Issues with shots not registering and stuttering, enough to have an impact on the game. Game can feel coated in treacle which impacts aim, and general enjoyment of immersion is eroded. Other times it feels really nice and smooth and you get a small insight into what it should be, or will hopefully be.

Its gone on long enough now and quite worrying why its still an issue. IMO several months into beta is not an excuse for this performance stuff; and I would love to know the truth. Is it code which needs writing/to be re-written, or is it just backend server stuff which can be fixed with more money or offering player hosting options.

NYX ability is too powerful. At best it should be invincible for the first 1.5 seconds then hittable. Its so poweful in FFA with the quad.

ANARKI promode movement system seems insane, plus being able to inject 75 health means he can have an effective attacking health of 150/75, but runs rings around you and hard to hit.

If i could change 3 things about the game now, it would be those 3 without a doubt.

Come on, it was fun from 2GD's POV.

Actually its funnier for me as I just made a post pointing out how insanely unbalanced nyx's ability is, particularly in obtaining the quad in FFA. (and I made this point long before today BTW- Comment #36. )

And in the game you are speaking about, 2GD is in ability mode for 3 out of the 4 quads collected/stolen with an ability trigger time of about 4 seconds within the quad spawning time, which I would say somewhat proves my point about what's going on:)



And the only reason its not 4/4 is because he didn't need it on that one, but co-incidentally, it was all charged and waiting to go.

I would like to think after decades of being the pinnacle of FPS, quake franchise can sell its soul a little less cheaply than this.

If 2GD wants to go there while that ass is hot then its up to him. But he's only a few patch updates away from getting a shitty dick (nyx) :]

IMO Clutch, Nyx, Anarki, Sorlag are due nerfs which will radically change how players think about picking them, for me, I won't invest any real time in characters/strats I don't believe will stand the test of time.

At least with Galena and Ranger, you're very likely to have a character which is only going to get better (either directly or in relation to opposing nerfs) and both have deep potential with their totem and teleport game and will not have any radical changes which turn the time you've invested into them as a waste.

If you want to dominate in quake (DUEL) champs for the moment then IMO.

Main;

Anarki,
Nyx,
Clutch.

Unless you're someone like Toxic, Cypher, Rapha who have extraordinary ability.

For the record I'm sure 2GD (ex top 10 duel pro and currently likely to win money at quakecon in team mode) beats me with ranger/ranger in FFA for 7/10 FFA games, but I don't think there would be a whole lot in it.

If you want to dominate FFA servers, just pick Anarki.
