Wait like a week until some marketing intern at id realizes getting instagibbed is too much negative feedback for the new players and it gets nerfed to oblivion.
I seen a guy today playing it is obvious that if you use fast chars with gauntlet in ffa you get a lot of frags anyway I countered it quite well with Scalebearer + rockets. This said you are still a faggot for contributing to making the game unfriendly to casuals. Put your egomania away and play how it should be played eventually go duel if you feel that ffa is too easy for you.
using all weapons like you would use against veteran players, not just gauntlet because you need the sense of feeling "leet" in a world where most players do not give so much a sh1t on quake games as to play 24/24
anyway from what I understand gauntlet got nerfed down so now we got already a gun almost useless gg QL players keep going next nerf down would be shotgun because the defense it allows denies brainless all aim all strafe no brain players from doing brainless attacks this must piss them off a lot, then maybe rocket will be addressed again because in their precious view aka quake2 rocket was too slow and any similarities give them headaches, LG started to be sh1t already, only shaft from 2 meters away works, then nerfing down the MG I think it is already weaker and now the quake "experts" got their eyes on the HMG so this is another weapon soon to be made useless
then in the end we could just use 1 dmg weapons and so happily put our great strafe "skills" and consistent aim to great use
Gauntlet wasn't nerfed. They replaced one bug with another bug. It literally just does not hit when it should regardless of the damage it should be doing.
SSG at 120 damage is cool, but it interacts poorly with the dodgy netcode. Sucks being one-shot from what on your screen looks like the other side of the room. Is the spread random or something? If it is, that should be changed.
The RL is 20% faster than the QL rocket, has superior maximum splash, and a wider splash radius. It's not like the q2 RL. Delay on the RL is a netcode issue and is not constant.
HMG is pretty much a redundant weapon that people use like a second LG. But it can be fun to use, I admit. Quad runs with it are like shooting fish in a barrel.
I am not complaining about LG.
Gauntlet does not affect me directly as I could counter that in the last patch where gauntlet was strong (already mentioned it) but I don't like the egomania of these stupid so-called "elitists"* who by their "lolz I own n00bs" attitude are hurting the delicate playerbase already by putting away beginners
*I cal them stupid because these are guys or better said kids who played 24/24 QL for years and are still shit when they deal with pro players -the kind of idiots who just improve in one aspect alone which is dodge+aim subgroup of skills while their timing and general brain game is braindead
sry, i understand your position.
actually the reason why i abused gauntlet was, i accidentaly found how strong it was in that match i linked. it was not like my 10th game where i used gaunt only. was my 1st match where i did not know how good it was, and found it.
i think gaunt was op, but i actually think only small nerf was enough. now its completely useless and the game prefers +back or hiding in corners again like ql does, which is also braindead, and less fun to play against / watch on twitch.tv imo.
I already said so that imbeciles like you can understand (in vain it seems) that this does not affect me directly because I know how to counter gauntlet abusers but it affects beginners and casuals. Put your egomania up your arse and admit that you are still nobody in QL despite all the effort.
Stupid pole is stupid pole. Gotta love the interconnectivity the Internet brought to the world, this way iq 12 Africans can talk to Europeans in a common broken language and kids can talk to adults like they are on equal foot.
Yes, because if you played QL for 8 years 4 hours/day and you find the gauntlet strong it is common sense that you should abuse the weapon to humiliate newcomers from OW call of duty and other games till they leave disillusioned if this sounds smart to you that I rest my case (as I already pointed out that experienced players have methods to avoid this gauntlet attack).
Isn't using the gauntlet giving the noob more of a chance to kill you?
It sure is better than using all the weapons and stomping them harder or just letting them kill you. Actually it is more humiliating to have someone give you pity frags.
The most efficient use of gauntlet comes in conjunction with strafejumping well, which casuals do not master, that's why gauntlet abusers from the last 2 patches usually chose fast champs like Anarki, Slash or Nyx.
btw thinking about noobs means nothing here since there is a matchmaking system.
if the matchmaking is not working properly, that is a different topic, and it is Bethesda's fault.
It can be Bethesdha's fault to some extend for not being able to bring in enough ppl, but if there is not a big playerbase then they only have two alternatives: to widen the skill group so that old elo1200 can fight elo1800 or MMR whatever, or to make each skill base wait for 20 minutes for a game like it is the case now
true. if they choose the 2nd one, then they will need to allow us to play custom games while we wait. but this will not happen soon. they are too busy to finish the basic parts so my guess is they have done almost nothing about custom games yet.
I hate the gauntlet. Why did they include it in the game. If it was one thing they could have dropped from ql its the noskill gauntlet. Wait was nice they removed gl, but gauntlet could have gone as well.
It still does 75 damage per hit, but it just doesn't hit when it should.
It's like it is "shooting" all the time at 2.5 times per second (same as in q3), so you might be between "shots" when you touch the enemy with it.
In q3, it is different. It does not start shooting until you touch them.
That's my theory on this particular bug anyway.

It's powerful. Too powerful, I dare say.
