those websites look horrible, especially the first one looks like it's designed by a 13 year old. Second one just too bright.

I love this forum for the fact that it allows us to have a single line post without 300px height and all that shit. Signatures, bla bla all that bullshit. Easiest to read forum ever. Besides, the way the nesting works is nice here, as opposed to the straight line stuff with pagination every 10 posts or so.

You said everything I felt is the reason why ESR works better than any other place. If I had a forum I would like this identical style of posting. Even comments under blogs/sites have similar better tree view than most forums where everything is constantly quoted and stuff that takes unnecessary space.

1) Open the firefox addon manager.
2) Switch to the userscripts menu and look for the nicky theme mod script.
3) Click edit and choose an application to edit the script (e.g. c:/WINDOWS/notepad.exe)
4) Change 'background:url('http://cityy.explicits.de/img/esr_bg.jpg')' in the css string to any other url you like.
5) Refresh the site.

Firefox is faster nowadays. Maybe not in terms of start-up times, but page rendering and history forward/backward performance definitely feels great.

Colors and design are fine. One of the best. Maybe change the font since I can't in Chrome.

But sometimes it's a bit much when the reply chain gets too long or the number of replies reaches the thousands.

The option to have replies marked as read automatically (after a specified time) or manually (by a link) would be nice.

Would also like a mobile version or at least some tapatalk type shit.

99% of all redesigns for the sake up updating the look or making it more user friendly or what fucking ever are huge failures. Take every webbrowser interface changes for the past ... 7-10 years or major websites?

Which is why I like the current system.

Image moderation is very permissive and tolerant, before becoming an admin myself I had dozens of stupid pony images instantly approved.
We never block content but we do regulate huge (2MB+) gifs that clog threads.
It's a win win, although there should be a user level that allows people familiar with the rules to have images approved instantly or to bypass approval all together.

The thing is, most Trusted users still use humongous wallpaper sized thumbnails for some reason :l
