I don't really like those videos, on the face of it its a good deed, till you realise the 'good deed' was done purely because the OP makes many more thousands off this man's reaction from youtube.

So for me it casts a lot of doubt on good deeds (on video) in doubt, you never know if someone is being kind any more.

This is another example of black people being exploited. Its a real shame.

its the same with a lot of things these days camera crews picking on the poor and desperate, showing a depraved way of life and making an award winning show for peanuts.

I agree with our little racist britfag for once. The guy who created the video probably has a partnership that will pays out based on amount of views and type of ads used. At minimum his 1k investment will give him a return of 10k. Considering the popularity of the youtuber in question this amount might very well be higher. He also banks quite a bit of goodwill with this video which will result in media exposure and extra subscriptions to his channel which inevitably will result to higher profits in the future.

So it becomes quite questionable whether the youtuber does it because he genuinely wants to help the homeless guy or mainly to help himself. Would he have done something similar without putting it on youtube? Has he ever done anything for homeless or some other type of charity before he joined youtube. In the video the homeless guy offered to split / part of the money back to the youtuber. Do you expect the youtuber to do the same thing and give the homeless guy half the profits of the movie? I doubt it but without knowing the person in question it's hard to say.

Hi Anonymousfag
Why does it matter if he genuinely wants to help? The end justifies the means, right? That's something you Germans have showed us. Although, you didn't reach the end did you? :(

You're giving me advice on profiles when you're hiding behind a public proxy because you keep blowing it everytime you try and tie yourself down to an alias.

Snigger.

The end does not justify it means.

These types of videos are becoming more common on youtube and on regular TV you will similar acts of so called ‘helping’ people though often in different formats. They create these feel good videos under the pretence of ‘giving money away’ but what they are doing is making a short term investment. They calculate based on the amount of subscribers etc. how much money they will make and then invest a fraction of that sum towards the video. The worse part however is that they will often dramatize these videos and make the person look more helpless / stupid / ignorant than they really are. More drama means more viewers. The people who they help often feel off guard when they are confronted with a video camera and don’t know how to act. They might say or do things that they afterwards possible regret.

If the creators of these videos explain the whole ordeal afterwards and inform the people they ‘help’ that they will appear on youtube and also let them see the footage before it gets uploaded and also give them half of the profits then it would not be a problem. However I suspect that most of the people who get helped don’t receive anything more besides the free sandwich, shirts, cloths or 100 dollar bill after they sign their agreement that the footage can be used on youtube. Also quite a few people will not like the way they are portrayed in these videos. Meanwhile the creator of the video will look like the hero and receive a lot of goodwill and more importantly money after investing only a fraction of the final revenue.

You can be negative about it but still some homeless guy gets 1000 feels like someone cares and is made very very happy. There is a lot of ruthless businesses out there not a bad way to make money good luck to him.

instead of 1k how about use 1k to get them food, clothes, a place they can stay at for a few days and help them with job applications/getting a job.

my friends and i used to go to the city a lot to get halal from the "famous halal stand" which usually had a lot of people lined up. anyway at the end of the line there would always be some homeless people asking for money. any way this one guy was asking money to get food, instead of giving him money one of my friends offered to buy him a chicken/rice platter but that dude refused and only wanted the money. it was obvious it was only for drugs/booze.

That's why I give my money to organizations that are guaranteed to help out people in need. Giving to people directly might actually worsen a person's situation as they can continue living as they are, just panhandling money for drugs or what be it.

There are some countries that homeless families are one of the major problems. Rapid growing of population is just one cause of it. However, there are still agencies who offer relocation for some parties involved. Article source:apply for payday loan
