Everyone can be a star for one night. But if you want to look to the greater scheme of things, you want to go to statistics. What about the following measures:

1. # plusses received / # posts
2. # plusses received / # plusses given

You got a long way ahead of you... ;D

About the second measure, you are right, but don't just stop there.

You may agree that when you plus other people, they will generally appreciate it, and being more inclined to plus you back. This to me looks like a shift, from plusses that should reflect content quality to plusses that actually are some sort of popularity trade among buddies. It's still a measure of popularity overall, but less grounded on actual content, which imho should be the whole point of the system.

As for the first one, I was just giving quake is potat something to think about.

was joke mens)) I'm aware of all this. It's just I basically say "lol u suk" to anyone who is great but at that moment didn't achieve victory. Unfortunately I only do this to entertain myself, so it can cause confusion.

Except for ins. When I say "lol ins u suk", I mean it!!!

Also, the popularity trade only goes so far. I once plussed h8m3 for every comment he made during the last moscow lan for his journalistic efforts, only to realize that shortly afterwards my plusses towards him began to register 0%. I'm still surprised I register 1% plusses for sonic's gifs.

And there are two kinds of plusses, those rewarded for intellectual or valuble content, and those rewarded for retarded lulz. I think we both know where we each excel!
