It's possible. False positives happen. They kept happening over and over again when punkbuster was there, after all. That's what happens when you automate cheat detection and I haven't heard of a single perfect anti-cheat yet, sadly. So yeah, there is a chance this person is innocent. But what if he/she is? Too bad, he/she is banned. What else is there to do? Take position and defend him/her? When we don't know if he/she is guilty or not? And defend against who? The evil anti-cheat?

That sums up what I think of the situation.
