most of the current "pro" players will attend LAN tournaments only if there are big prizes or if they live next to them, even their teams/sponsors will not send them there.

i would attend if there was a big prize but else, i will just wait for DreamHack or Adroits, but im sure alot of european players can or will attend this since it is cheap for them to travel.

Let's cut the crap, pros don't show up on smaller events that offer pizza and lasagne as prize pool.

im saying that people will not waste their money on tournaments with small prize-money that doesn't even refund their flight costs, w/e it is a good place to have fun in or not.

someone like rapha might not go no, but someone in europe who isnt so financially constrained might just see it as a holiday given the scenery (with a bit of quake bundled in)

What should happen very soon is to find a group of dedicated ppl that can help organizing. There are a number of things to decide:

- What tournaments / modes, who runs the cups, who does streaming, etc. Would adroits help? Level up? Faceit?

- Traveling to the event. Since the location is not directly at an airport, information about how to get there has to be collected. It would be cool to have estimated costs for the whole thing, so that ppl from different countries can figure out if it works for them.

- We need a webpage to publish the information, as well as to subscribe. Having a rough estimate of the attendance is crucial to organize the PCs, the accommodation and everything.

I am willing to step in and help, but involvement from other parties is definitely needed, and in the end is also about how much the community cares.

So where do all the computers come from?

correct me if i'm wrong but i think you either:

use the pcs at the lan centre
or
ask for sponsorship for a couple of machines in exchange for advertising (or money, whatever means) of the computer maker's company at the event etc

From reading his post it seems that PC's would be available as he's opening a "gaming club" right? And he mentions appartments too, with max of 40 players (I guess his club has limits too). I have to say it all sounds a bit fishy to me, but you're the one that skyped with him ;)

Yes, he owns a gaming cafe, and has contacts with a local PC shop who could provide more. In our chat we were talking about 25 PC, but ofc things can be worked on.

easyJet do London to Split for £130 return. From Split you take a 1.5 hour bus ride to Sibenik (the city that this "village" belongs to). Probably a short bus ride/walk to this area from there.

Those looking to be cheaper, theres a £85 return to zagreb but this includes a 4 hour bus ride which would eat away some of those savings

£15-20 per night budget private room, maybe cheaper if you get more beds & share

for all players who come apartment woud be 10 euros for night.
