interesting new mix teams signing up - we want to see more | be it regulars or new teams, come and play :)

it's hard to find even a training during the week i doubt teams will play a whole evening then :)

well there are more teams to sign up as far as i know - hopefully we'll have a decent amount of check-ins.

yesterday there were loads of PCW's going on for many ctf teams, so i'm sure we'll have some activity :)

yesterday was sunday though;)

Ye. It is only sign ups so far. Just before cup starts we going to make other divs (if there will be enough teams)

It also could be that we make 2 divisions from each 4 teams, but then it is double elimination.

just put em all in one and DE if there's 8 or less teams.

all the players? haz is pretty much inactive, so am I, jaz is gone, juv does not have a ctf team, and only focusses on ctf, lithium is inactive as well, linkje and co are only concentrating on tdm. k1ck is not really playing ctf either. i dunno what teams you mean, really.

they're basically divided thru wiz-unk-exp (talkin bout ani abso haz gerpp deus derfel), and some old players came back like vertex and impulse, spartie and demon are in dp, etc... few players left, few came back. no loss really. you should update yourself :)

as far as infused goes, only real top level ctf player there was sides, and he's a dp player to begin with and joined just because of misunderstanding that dp wont play in those competitions :)

id give props to jaz and all, but it turned out how it turned out to be with him, which is sad cause he's a nice guy.

i can understand linkje & co moving to tdm since it's the mode that gets all the love from ql devs ever since last qcon and there's no real motivation for anyone to play ctf anymore imo.

edit: well gonna correct myself, only big loss is broken not participating anymore, even tho they weren't usual attendees of ql leagues to begin with.

well you wanted info about players, i just told you who's where, nothing more.

You borderline insinuated that I was bad though putting sides above me is okay since he plays a different position. But I did play for team GER and we did get second; I am not saying I was that good but I wasen't that bad either :P I will be back as soon I 100% healthy again plus have less studying to do. I do miss the competitive ctf scene. Pickup is mind numbing.

I didn't say you were bad. Being worse then sides is no insult (unless you think sides isn't nothing more then a decent player). Fact is, before sides joined infsd, you guys weren't a team that could actually compete on a top level (top level aka real div1 clans at the time, not random div2 teams promoted just to serve as fillers for div1).

But yeah, I didn't mean you're a bad player, I just said rest of team wasn't as good as sides. Sorry for misunderstanding.

cant play longer than 1.5 hours (sometimes only 20min) until my hand starts to cramp. I need a new mouse and more physiotherapy sessions. I fucked up my forearm real bad because of heavy lifting. So, basically I wasent able to hold a pencil without pain for 2 months and I wasent able to work for another 4 months. My shoulder also hurts when playing quake (thanks to working out). Working out itself is not so much the problem :D Oddly enough...

Long story short: Whole arm is fucked, hand as well and shoulder but it is getting better, a lot better since the beginning.

tl;tr? nobody cares.

I used to play with 800dpi, sens 3.5, accel 0.01; now I play with sens 5, accel .12 400dpi. I had to change because my mousepad was so warn out that I could not play consistently withit anymore :D And now I'm screwed because I want to go back to high sens but I hit a lot better shaft/rail with the current settings but its very strenuous especially with rockets :(

i like it but i dont use any accel so can't compare the old and the new accel :)

Yeah bet if there was a big on-line cup with big moneys ,they would soon reappear. meh!

quad-cup was great but only for the top3 because the rest basically had to pay to play and because they knew that they were not going to win, they did not even bother signing up. I mean, why would they pay to get beaten in the quarter finals?

It was just a really bad system. Money is not all though - I hope the hoq league works out well for the remaining ctf community.

Just 'cause the oldschoolers don't have any motivation anymore doesn't mean new players can't come through and overtake them ;)

if you're suggesting a bo5 final - then it could make it difficult for some teams to compete all the way to the end in a single night.

I think that it's a nice thing about this cup - 90% of the games (except maybe some 3rd placers) are finished the same evening
