I've no doubt that it's worth it, but 30 euros is quite a bit to rent a monitor for a few games..

I haven't really considered it but my guess is if its BYOC most people probably have a setup their comfortable with, so odds are its a "just in case" scenario? Or maybe if they don't feel like hauling theirs to the event or whatever the case may be.

You can tell the guys in here that haven't carried their crt to lan. Look, it's not intended for you folks as an "upgrade" from your LCD necessarily, if you primarily game on a crt then nothing else is acceptable from a performance standpoint, and check-in/check-outs at big lans like Quakecon can take quite some time. I'd gladly pay 50bucks to "rent" a crt for the duration of the event if it's a high performance CRT like I'm accustomed to.
