tbh, when I played zotac/gdata every weekend, I was happy when I got in round 2 - but you could never know who your opponent will be as noob/amateur such as you and me

out of - lets say 128 players - there always are 64 (maybe a slightly better chance for you, amokchen) who will beat you, no matter what - so it's 50:50 to experience round 2

Really, LAN events like Dreamhack should drop all player limits and qualifiers and just let everyone participate. Why the hell not? I can understand if it's IEM where LAN event is final of a season championship, and where the whole season's purpose is to select the best players, but if it's just a LAN for people to meet and have fun, why allow only chosen ones to play?

One finishes in one day, the other one takes two days.

ZSX Is impressing me with his aim and movement. He looks as fast as cypher and is hitting some ridiculous shit. However his timing is not so sharp, but i'm really looking at him seriously as an up and comer.

Dreamhack announced their qualifier (started 13:00 CET)

fantic beat-it rescheduled their (started 17:00 CET)

then out of the blue comes the necrocup (started 13:00 CET as well)

Now, first of all I don't understand why the organizers of that necrocup picked this time and date knowing there's also the Dreamhack qualifier overlapping their cup.

Then, secondly and most important, I don't understand why some players signed up for BOTH the DH qualifier and the necrocup, thus causing huuuuuuuuge delays in the DH qualifier, then implicitly in the fnatic beat-it qualifier. I mean seriously, you just can't get enough or what the fuck? You know they both happen at the same time and you know you're bound to be late for games on one or the other tourney. Not only you're delaying everything, but you're just showing a lack of respect to your opponents who had to sit there and wait for you 20-30 or more minutes at times...

Because of all this, the Dreamhack qualifier closed with a delay of around 3 hours. I had to stream for 7 hours straight! But what do these players care, they just play 20-30 mins and they're either out or move on. They don't give a fuck about causing delays and whatnot. Well thank you guys, thank you very much!

Thirdly, I have to talk about the admins a little. Blaze and slayzah are great nice guys, maybe too nice I would say. Except guard who was thrown out of the qualifier today for being close to 1 hour (!) late for his game, many more default wins should have been handed out imo to the players that were on time and had to wait for their opponents. Don't be afraid to kick them out guys, they're just mocking your whole tournament in the end.

@guard: I have nothing personal against you, but please explain to me this logic. You were signed on both the Dreamhack qualifier and the Necrocup. You theoretically had a pretty good chance to win both considering the signed up players.

Prize for winning DH qualifier: a spot at the event itself!
Prize for winning the necrocup: 30$ headphones...

Please, help me understand this...I mean c'mon headphones can't be that expensive in Lithuania...

All this Quake Live activity and tournaments is great, it really is. But it's all growing chaotically, and this is not a good thing. At this rate we will have all tournaments overlapping eachother, players taking ages to play a game and lots of people just wasting a lot of time in the process. The "I don't give a fuck anymore" factor will eventually kick in and then nobody will even be bothered to take them tournaments seriously. And it's so easy to just co-ordinate things, it just needs a better communication from everybody. From tournament organizers to admins and players.

Agreed. Anything more then 10 mins late is defloss. Admins should not allow such a delays in respect to themselves but in this particular case, its understandable. Blaze didn't want DH qualifier to be all about defloss so he decided to be leniant. Necrocup shouldn't have been scheduled for today.

in addition to this, 90% of the people delaying the tournaments and playing had no intention of attending dreamhack anyway, that's what's stupid about this whole thing.

Just for the record I was one of the player that was participating in the DH qualifier and the beat it.
I was playing my matches pretty quickly and always had to wait AT LEAST 30 minutes between each match and I ended up playing my third match after 4 hours in the tourney coz a lot of people kept delaying most of their matches. I finished that match at 17h15 and since the begining of the beat it qualifier started at 17h, I was given a default loss and there was no LB.

Thanks to those retards that screwed it up as it wasn't already a pain in the ass to play a match an hour and constantly wait for the next one.

I want to appologize to all the people playing in the dreamhack qualifier, I should've done something about all the people who played in both tournaments, causing delays in our.
Thinking back on it, I should've kicked out all of the players who played both tournaments..

I didn't cared about other necro cup, I played it , becose I waited for updating bracket (then i saw it, i had few WO rounds, so I thought I had lot of time). Then I waited for PM message.. and so on.. I don't blame others ,but I don't blame my self too..
