Well, we thought the same, even before the match, we thought, with one map win, we'll get NL next round, with two map wins, we have to face France, even the rulebook doesn't have it clear, it writes about points, instead of score or map diff...

The rulebook has it very clear.

1. Overall points
2. Points among tied participants
3. Score difference among tied participants
4. Higher score (as counted in coloumn “score difference”) between the participants
5. Overall score difference difference
6. Overall Higher score (as counted in coloumn “score difference”)
7. return to 2. (in case the number of tied participants has been reduced by criteria 3-6)

As you can see on the header, it's written: points, which is tied (3-3), so the 3rd criteria would make sense in this case. NOW I understand, they meaned map or mapscore difference under "points" (they also mean win/loss ratio under points, in the first case) but if they do, then criterias 3-7 are totally useless, since you can't tied a bo3 game. So this composition is very far from very clear chico. Anyway you can't expect much, from the ESL rules, which disqualifies the team with the better overall ratio.

Both UK and Poland should have just beat Russia like we should have and you would be through. Sorry mate.

We're tied on points, but won against you. That means we have 3 points and you have 0 in a mini-league between us both. That's how I understand it at least. It takes the head-to-head between tied teams rather than map difference, which you'd be ahead on.

Btw Hungary came out worst from these group seedings. I rather played in group A. We managed to beat everybody, atleast on one map, 3 of 5 teams on two, but ESL system doesn't care about win/loss ratio, so for us, 10 frags decided about winning the group, or place 4th. I hope they will think over again, these "mini-leagues" system, for the next year.

Ok, he had top score @ dm6 4on4 TDM once against a strong french tdm team. Ofc that's a good performance, especially considering that he was half-active for months now.
But it's just the same for winz, which means that player like winz haven't reach their 100% lvl yet. Which means that it's a bit "easier" for toxjq atm.
Toxjq has already reached his full potential, cuz he was active lately and practice quite a lot for tdm, and as i said, he was never really 100% inactive, unlike players like winz. And there's also the fact that tox used to practice A LOT back in the day, at both q3 and q4. By a lot, i mean ---> A SHIT LOAD OF PRO PRACTICE <---.
So, even if he's like half-active, he doesn't lose anything, i mean, he still got the same lvl, he just need like 1 or 2 weeks of full practice to reach his full potential again (i'm talkin about aim & movements, not strategies map knowledge etc etc).
Btw, if you look closer at the dm6 performance, you can clearly see that it was an open game, with quite a lot of FFA feeling, rushes etc, the scores tell. I mean, it was not really 100% tactical dm6 play just like the previous map (dm14). So then when it becomes pretty much FFA TDM played only on feelings, then ofc it's a bit easier for people like toxjq.
Don't get me wrong, toxjq is still one of the best aimer EVER, if he keeps playing, he will for sure have the same kind of deadly aim that players like cypher or strenx already have. Ofc, his rail & shaft are still reallly strong & solid. But what you don't seem to realize is that it's not q4 duel and that some "young" players of the "new" generation now have enough practice to not be scared anymore when they play against him.
Toxjq is one of the best quake player ever, but he's NOT God, and he's still BEATABLE, and nowadays he's not the only insane aimer anymore. This is all hype tbh. Toxjq is also one of my favorite quake player ever, but at least i'm not a blind fanboy.

This is an issue with own3d VODs. It happens randomly on some VODs, and d1ablo knows about it.

What I can recommend for now is to zoom in the browser to get a bigger player window without having to go fullscreen.

Have you tried yourself zooming in browser? What i get in opera or chrome is decreasing fps in 1,5-2 times.

zooming in works fine for me..

I'll admit I never followed quake4, so I can't really judge that. But he played in what was it quake3 wcg/eswc/esl (?? can't remember the organization) athens or something, which was after all his quake4 success, and again he didn't do very well.

Now we can all argue about "he didn't take it serious or whatever", if you are going to travel such a distance for a tournament and don't take it seriously, thats your problem. So until proven differently, I am not very impressed with him as a quake3/live dueller.

When players were bootcamping for the last ESL thing (or ESWC, I can't remember) Stermy, Strenx, Rapha and Cooller all played against Toxjq I believe. He outshafted Stermy and Strenx and got plenty of wins against all of them (and when you consider he 'doesn't play' that's not too shabby)

Really, go watch any tox tdm demo from back in the days ic q3, and you'll see he could've easily dominated in q3 duel if he wanted to.

Toxic never has been a dominant quake3 duel player and that is a fact. And it wasn't because a lack of trying or not being interested or any other excuse you can come up with.And that won't change until he wins a couple of major quake3/live lans with the entire elite present.

He didn't train as much as he did in quake 4 and look what happened when he finally did, 12 or 13 or whatever straight events against the BEST of the BEST, whatever you keep saying i think anyone with a brain knows hes one of the very top to touch any of the quake games, and wether it be 3 4 or live he would still be up there with enough time

And no, toxjq never played much duel in the q3 days. Back then the tdm scene was much bigger and more prestigoues and he simply enjoyed tdm more then duel. In Q4 he decided to play duel because he liked duel in Q4 and he completley dominated Q4 as we all know. If he decided to play 8 hours a day like rapha and all those other kids he would be pretty fucking good, I can promise you that.

Assume you, by some accident, had participated in the ESWC 2005, arguably one of the most presigious tournaments in Quake 3's history. Surprised a few people by making it till groupstage 2. And then managed to defeat cooller, who went on to win then tournament. Which left you as they only player to have defeated him at that tournament.

Now some random tells you that "you have never shown anything in Quake 3 duel".

i wouldn't call it domination but it's pretty amazing that he didnt play for so long in any official matches against good teams and he showed very good perfomance yesterday

Because we went for a hardcore tdm lineup. I have practiced with the team but I didn't wanna be a playing captain since I know there are other players better in tdm than me. I would have played vs France if my ping wouldn't have been fucked up. Luckily madix could jump in for practice some hours before and also the real game. Many thanks to him. For the record we asked spartie to do this aswell but he had to play ctf and could not practice before the game.
