When I'm in shape and put the time into the game the only people who can wipe the floor with me are either pros or regarded as very good. A small %.

I might lose to other players, but the scores are far from a wipeout and could be improved upon by some focused playtime with another good player. And many of those players have literally played one game/map thier entire lives and don't even hold down a job.

Once you get past 22 its very difficult to compete with people who will just play the sme game 4-5 hours a day (which is often the case in hardcore gaming communities)when you struggle to manage 4-5 hrs a week.

The more games you choose, the better I will perform.
For example, a better test of skill would not be focusing on Quake 3, but EVERY id duel game from the last 10 years.

I can play dust/aztec/train pretty well, Like everyone else I played some in 2001, but the players were such idiots I didn't wnat to be part of it.

part of being a multi talented gamer is the ability to play anything reasonably well with limited investment. Though I don't play RTS or RPG's they just do nothing for me.

Once you learn Quake, you can play ANY other FPS within a limited amount of time. Its the same with Street Fighter and driving games.
