I've Watched loads, it's the strategy they play that has got them to "fourth" so far and it's the same strategy Aston Villa play.

Also hasn't snowed that hard all winter other than on the mountains, and I can't even remember if it was ever below freezing in the middle of the day so far this winter. So, I guess you can say that Vancouver is the complete opposite this year.

Actually, analysts couldn't really agree on a good prediction for who would end up on the podium -- in fact, 6 teams could have potentially won gold this year the way they all played. It also turns out that Slovakia and Switzerland got even deeper into the tournament than usual, and both Russia and Sweden (my favourites for) got dropped in the quarterfinals. Crosby also sucked (and is overrated anyways), and it turned out the Russians were too arrogant to get along with each other, including Ovechkin and Malkin. There were a ton of surprises this tournament, and to say that, despite all that, Canada was such a clear-cut favourite to win, despite having two old defensemen and an old goalie, is pretty shallow. Russia could have easily stepped up with an equally stacked roster.

What I do think though is that its ridiculous that a team should be able to use their own referees.
There were 3-4 quite obvious penalties for Canada that should have gotten called.
Perhaps we should this more often though, and not just in hockey. For example it would be nice to See italy vs england in world cup finals in football. And we use an Italian referee. Let's see the reactions on something like that.

But there were a fuckload of crosscecks, specifically 4-5 by pronger that were more severe than the others. also some calls for offside when it wasnt.
USA should have had some more calls against them too, but not as many.

UBC was so boring, though. I was waving my BC and Canada flags asking people to honk if they love Canada after the gold-medal game, and only about half the cars honked -- I'm guessing because there were a ton of old people passing by who are probably as boring as the old people I see around my apartment building. But then the bus I got on right afterwards was quiet as hell, too. Where were the rowdy students at!? :(

Downtown was just like a two-week-long gong show. Made me not wanna go that often 'cause I knew I wasn't gonna get into a bar anyways no matter how hard I tried to find one with some space. :P
