imo he is not 100x times worst than LeBanner, like the video shows, but he was stepping with the wrong foot there, he should have been starting much more carefully, not attacking and putting all his strength in the first punches
a good coach should have teach him to keep distance and not get involve in close range fights against a very skilled and ferocious at close range LeBanner, despite his inferior arms length Don Frye would have better chances that way, also I very doubt he had a good sparring partner before the match
I recall an old statement Don Frye saying he would like to box against Mike Tyson, I guess you need pretty much specific training asaggressivity alone is not enough, when I doubt he was too much into boxing, so now he not made bald statements only, but done bald things, and the reward of him being stupid by fighting unprepared is in the video
