Seriously, id should hire some map makers as fast as possible. I watched those games and I find them rather boring. Well only endings are quite nice, but the rest isn't exciting really. I blame the maps of course, however I thought that you QL players are enjoying those. IT HAS TO BE SAID: T6 and T7 SUCKS ASS.

On a side note - I think Q3 demos are more entertaining atm because the action is a lot faster. I mean in QL weapons are quite 'nerfed' comparing to Q3 and it's somehow harder to kill because of less damage dealt by weapons (lg and rg). Battles between players seems so random because you have "a lot" of time before you'll go down from 200/200 to 0. Five impressives and people are still standing alive, hilarious.

It's not about the mapmakers, afaik they did actually hire some community mapper, it's more about making the maps fit into competitive play and to allow user generated content.

But weapons are totally fine imo. At least it's more important now to control the map than to only to outaim your opponent.

i was 200/200 couple of times, in a shaft vs plasma battle, and went like "lol its plasma ill own the guy".

2 secs later i killed the guy, i'm down to 30/0, and the guy wasn't really that precise.

to be fair it did in q3 aswell. it's a weird weapon since you can hit alot of shots with spam and luck, and you can aim and track pretty well and miss almost everything.

true true! and the feeling of projectile weapons are alot different in qlive aswell.

plasma prolly was as powerful in q3 as in ql, but i kinda feel the movement is 30% slower in strafing in ql, thus much easier to aim and hit with everything.

What do you think the QL map pool should be then? With the available maps?

its not so bad, its like a q3 LG but with a long start up, people just see the chaingun and say the map suck without giving it a fair shot, I wish some of these online tournaments would replace t6 with t2 so that it would get played some and then decide if its good or not, at least I dont think its a best spawn wins map.

i don't like how it is just RL/LG/CG and MG . Needs to be a grenade launcher or plasma or something. And so it isn't so campy, maybe a 35 second Mega instead of 2 mins.

Nah, back in the Quake 3 days there was only two YA's, a couple of shards, an LG and a RL, and that simplicity was what made the map brilliant. Wish they made it just like it was before :(

the map died in that moment.

t6 is the worst of the bunch, rail on that map is worse than LG is in q3(almost).

t6 is like one player spawn instagib and one player spawn defrag.

At the European Knockout 1v1 Tournament final, map 4 dm6 (i watched video not demo) at about 8.30 bodzo falls down from rocket with only 11 hp and does not lose any hp. Ho is that possible? is there a trick like hitting walk-button?

i have no idea, but if u dont believe, check his demo. I only watched dm6 and he does it every time (actually once i think he failed in it) and it doesnt matter where you jump or how, just ignores falling damage. I think bodzo would tell us :)

yeah that's a known bug when playing bots, but I've never heard of it in an online game. Which is why it would almost make sense it's a spec bug. I dunno though.

i told you, i did nothing! i just didnt take any dmg. tried it again, nothing needed to initialize htis bug or w/e. when i open a bot match, i just dont take any falling dmg (only tried dm6 so far)

Was that hard to morph CPMA in QL and work from there, now that even fucking arqon is working @ id? Oh well, they like lossing their times implemeting stuff that has been done in a mod years ago, and peoples times too apparently, since we have to deal with the weak releases and dumb bugs when the standalone Q3+CPMA works flawless already.

im 98% sure that bodzo uses bug abuse. He sometimes forgets or fails to do it and i have watched today 3 stermys demos 3 my demos and all those bodzos demos, only bodzo doesnt receive fall damage.

the bug at cp18, to hide into the black stuff, so you cant be seen for example, also in cs some crouch jumping etc and binds also not allowed, and ninja script was also not allowed in many tournaments , maybe who know its some kind of bind that makes you not make loss health when you fall, we dont know its all possible, and maybe its just a demo bug

jumping down YA jump pad on dm6 can be done silently. unintended bug and abused by just about every player... in tournaments. how is Bodzo really doing anything different just because he seems to be the only person who knows how to do it atm? if there was only one person using the silent jump pad bug i mentioned, would it be wrong?

i'm not saying what Bodzo is doing is ethical but if it's in the game and the tourney admins haven't specifically forbidden people from using it, i don't think he's breaking any rules.

cool posts here... i posted #21 and there is still no answer to this. I think its not a cheat, but an exploit. Some stuff like that happens all the time, one guy explores a super-duper-command and then it gets fixed or everyone uses it from that day on :)
im still very interested in how this works...
i discovered some other cool bugs like picking up red, the pickup sound gets triggered, but the armoure is still there. Fun though :)
