Strenx didn't attend enough qualifiying events, that's why he's only ranked 8th on our national french rankings. Kirua didn't attend any of them, there's no surprise not to see him in that list.
The reason why lowje is qualified is that he moved his ass to every single ESWC qualifier all over France, though he's dropping his seat ; slx should be allowed to go as he's sat right behind lowje in that ranking.

edit : now, feel free to whine on that system, but at least everyone had its chance and everyone could attend and make it. I'd rather HAVE to attend a couple of events in order to get qualified, than sit & wait for head admins to select big names at their own discretion (which leads to whine anyway).

There were 3 major events :
- Mont-de-Marsan (south west)
- Troyes (closed to Paris)
- Poitier (middle/south west)

You can say that there wren't events all around France but you can't say that all event went in Paris/north :/

Online competitions are also important, and I think that Kirua deserve to play @ the ESWC master.

But what you said is exactly what happened to select the other players of the ESWC Master... So why apply a rule to select the foreign players, and another rule to select french players ? o_O

But perhaps Lowje can let his place to slx (who is the 5th @ french ranking). He already said on FFF website that he is not against to let his place to a stronger french player.

I know that I'm one of the poorest french dueler. If I did all events, it was in order to make alive french dying quake community (being one more player on the tournaments, helping admins, coverage for 2 french website, ... etc).

That's why, as I said on every french website, I won't participate as player to ESWC.fr neither than Masters.

I was talking about that with arhiman when a storm caused troubles to 2 of my computers. I'm fixing it but it makes some times and I have exams soon.

Not like there's ever been world-class duellers in France past STG's time anyway. :)
And since the ESWC is about world-class duellers, strenx, Kirua or slx for you will probably not change much more than the scores.

to be fair stg was very good, but he wasn't worldclass at his prime.

He wasn't on par with the very best but he could compete in top-class tourneys. :)
I can't think of any other french player who ever could, and I don't think we will see that happen this year either.

Edit : in Q3 that is, let's not forget about Danold. :)

well, in his prime (wcg '01) he did beat stelam (to get beaten by him in the LB btw), but that's about it. I always loved his style, but a world-class player? hmm not really imo.
