1. there really is a noticeable difference in the quality of acting. Think Keanu Reeves vs. Robert DeNiro. Also some actors try to only do movies with good scripts/plots while others don't seem to care. So if you know what actors are in it you can better guess how good it will be.

That's not a reason to be honest. The second part of 1 is a more valid one but still not all that important :)

I guess if you find it important is up to you. But I really base part of my movie selection on who is in them (say aound 30%) and so far I'm quite happy with my choices.


Another example: "weird" movie with Johnnie Depp (Fear & Loathing, Dead Man) I'll always see vs. "weird" movie with some celebrity like P. Hilton (not that I've seen any but you know...)

Why not just go and see the movies which are supposed to be good? (If this happens to have the same actor it shouldn't matter)

Trailers are a really good way to judge a movie. Matter of fact I sometimes just watch trailers instead of movies.

I know them to the extent that I know an acclaimed sports personality. Perhaps you and people with your opinion enjoy movies differently than I do. Or don't have the desire to know more about the process of cinema and the people involved in it.

I could do that rearrangement since you involved skill or ability (or whatever we can call it for acting). Same thing goes for gaming then. So why not care about the loss of the person with said skill?
People mourn great figures of public everyday for the things they have done, or what they are capable of. Shouldnt mourning what they represented or created be another matter?

One of his first big Australian movies was Two Hands , is a good movie, his acting isnt the greatest, the movie has some harsh scenes and bits of the australian sense of humor all throughout . I would recomend it.
