watched part 1 & 2 on tuesday, hope part 3 is more than just slightly better than the 2nd :) found it rather disappointing after part 1, not shit but not as good either :(

Well the problem is (imo) that you never know where it's all going. You understand most of what's happening but there are so many "retournements de situation", like everything suddenly turns over because of a treachery etc :p The beginning is also pretty slow & it's all just rather basic acting from knightley & bloom, it's a movie for a disney audience. Still pretty fun to watch though :)

Thought #3 was less good than #2, I like the pirates movies for all their cool environments and magical things, and this time around most of it was lame or had already been seen before.

(The locker was pretty cool though)

yeah I didn't like the second one that much either. I just can't stand bloom, in Troy & Kingdom of Heaven he was simply awful. I wanted Saladin to kick his ass so bad. And to think that he was the one who killed Brad Pitt in troy.. ouch :D And true, Knightley can't really act either, when she wants to look badass (like in this one, the Jacket or Domino) it's just.. not it.
