Gameplay wise I dont think there's a significant difference between vq3 and vq4.

The main objective is to have a channel name the more "neutral" as possible, no country appartenance.

Also, we want to merge tdm/ctf community, and perhaps regain some motivation showing ctfers that tdm is also a mod that is really interesting to play.

By the way, I admit that #division0 stands for selection, and EVERY aliaser or player thats violating any rule (insults, cheats or something that way) will be QBANNED, no second chance will be given.

To end the post, I'll just add that this channel will be managed by all player who are involved in Nation Cup (plus some other contributor as prion/megro, and perhaps any CB admin who wants to help), and I hope it will be a reference.

I dont doubt that any of these ops will abuse of bans etc... and each of them are really well placed to know each community, country speaking (everybody knows that q3 scene is divided into each country, for example frenchfragfactory for france, planetquake for germany, etc...)

The main problem with trying to convince people who play CTF that TDM is a good gametype, even better actually, is that they're all CTFers.

nice intention, but for TDM there is snuffpickup and for CTF there is #spontanctf, this wont work, sorry :/

snuffpickup is cpma ( most of us are still using osp), and cze servers dont allow every european to play (cause of ping).

spontan is only ctf oriented, and moreover only on german ips, this new chan is supposed to bring everyone a server to play in the same conditions. (servers from several countries)

i know and i like the idea, but i dont think it will work, because the two mentioned channels, especially spontanctf, have an established community which wont switch just because of a news-post ,which is sad

dont want them to switch, just want a channel with good servers for everyone, and make tdm more accessible (coz its on the same chan), and perhaps show that there are enough player to play it like before ;)

Also, I think that if all the active tdm players are on the same channel, the games will be more interesting than having 4 separated pickups !

why acting so childish? its just, that there are so many clans in the vq3 league of k3l now, and cobs is talking about 2-3 clans that didnt register because they have some bad placebo effects when playing cpma.

look at cb then look at k3l then re-think what you just wrote cos cobs is spot on.

so what? seems like a good season to me, 40 at CB (which is international) and around 25 at k3l, which is a german site and always had less registrations than CB. this is the first season with cpma, i think next season there will be more clans :]

k3l does not have less signups because it's german... the way it is run prevents it from getting any attention from the better tdm teams (this isn't even mainly about cpma). for the league format to work k3l would need decent servers and a dedicated admin team - they lack both.

if i look at k3l's signups i see ultrafrag and another polish team. after just recently having the displeasure to meet them in cb i have no intention of playing them again especially in a 2-map system without fixed servers or admins. then there's also two czech teams where the server search will be similar and two german teams who aren't exactly a treat to anyone who's serious about tdm.
why play k3l? the only ones i'd like to play are egod but that can be arranged on irc most days of the week.

edit: to sum it up... cups > leagues & cb admins > k3l admins which equals to a lesser skilled lineup of teams and even less appeal to play there. cpma just adds more annoyance with the lack of vq3-tdm servers throughout europe.

you are talking here about equal servers and then you whine about k3l`s format? they use CPMA, which means you could play even an Australian team on a chinese server with ping 150 and it would be like playing OSP on a 50ping server.

you dont need vq3 servers, you just need cpma servers where vq3 voting is enabled, and that is 70% of the cpma servers running, there are e.g. already 4 or 5 servers sponsored by master which have a good connection to almost whole EU and you can vote almost every setting you want

i know that feeling, you should try some CFG changes, that always helps getting a feeling for a new mod:
-change FOV
-change sensitivity
-change gamma/brightnes

try them, maybe it will help you.

try the bridge to rail jump in OSP and then try it in CPMA and you'll see what i mean :)

There was a only thing to do with osp 1.03, to give the code source to serious guys who would have made osp 1.04 in the straight line of this mod. (I know that some good french developpers have requested it).

Honestly, when you played osp, and then you try cpma (coz you arent a cow and you want to give it a try), and you can't hear from where the enemy is coming (at least not as clearly as in osp), it is really weird.

Moreover, I played it 1 week ago again, and it is not as comfortable.

By the way I dont really want to debate about pro/con of these two mods, but it would have been fair to let osp 1.04 live out of cpma.

NB: another good point would be that cpma could use osp configs at least ... (how boring to do hud/gfx again ...)
