Sacrifice.

...I used to play this game. It totally kicked ass, too. I'm surprised it wasn't more popular.

It was relatively popular as far as I remember and it was one of those games that have a very interesting core concept, are remarkably fun to play but for some reason fall short and always skip your memory. Kinda like Giants: Citizen Kabuto or Evolva which all have similar graphics and were released in 2000.

The first and old Wipeout is above any Wipeout released after, p0rt showed a video that doesn't do justice to that awesome game. The first one is the only game that gave me headaches trying to destroy my records (or maybe that's because I wasn't used to very fast racing games that punish you soooo much).

extream G is good but not good enough, cornering is all random and you can never master it, and perfection takes off the .ms off your laptime in wipeout with lifting and lowering the nose stops you bouncing and banging around

then wipeout makes the same mistake everytime a game gets released, and get burned in reviews for only having 12-16 tracks and ends up with 60-80% rating

It depends what you mean by "better" concerning the graphics, you can increase the resolution.

Since the internal resolution is higher than 1080p it's like you add anti aliasing too you won't see the jagged edges. But it's not like you can change the shaders and texture quality or something, I need to read more about it, but by just watching the videos I can't see better effects than the original games.
Then the framerate is higher too depending on the games, because the PCSX2 team fixes bugs for each game whenever they can afaik:

Speed needs to be set manually apparently, but you will find each configuration online so don't worry, I don't know if they add config files for each games. But this is if you want to raise the framerate which is better of course! I don't know if all games have engine bugs when you unlock the framerate cap though, but that's not a big deal :D.

Oh and I don't know about the loading time, sorry, I will try and compare but I can't now.
