You can approximate odds for yourself - just divide worldwide number of flights per year by number of plane crashes with fatalities for given year.

As for me, odds are higher, but still negligible.

Calculating an estimated risk of crashing by taking the number of world wide flights divided by a number of accidents isn't going to give you a relevant estimate

Company + aircraft type gives you a much better estimate but as long as you're flying with a well-known company there shouldn't really be any need check up on these things.. apart from tring to get a seat at the wings since it's where the aircraft doesn't break apart.

I would say that the less fear person has, the less accurate estimate it needs. :)
