Perhaps the least famous of the four, ic-REPTILE is nonetheless an experienced fragger, and the player chosen to complete team ic in many tournaments of late. Do you think a player can improve by configging, for example the dreaded shaft?

I think you should learn how to aim before you start configging the weapons.

You mean strafing in the rails?

Yeah, atleast learn to use that technique in certain situations. You should use truelightning 0 and learn how to shaft with that.

Are you one of those who are never satisfied with your config, or is yours finished and you never change it?

I change small things and tweak a little.

Left mousebutton, fire. Right, zoom. SG, scroll up. Shaft, scroll down. Sneak, Mouse3.

You used MX300, and the rest of ic use Micro$oft. What's great about your mouse?

It tracks the smallest movement and the shape was just right for me.

Okay, did you play with a Pilot ball mouse before, is that why? It has almost exactly the same shape.

First Pilot Wheelmouse (ball), then the MS Trekker Wheel (ball), then MX300 ^^

Aha. Yeah, the old Pilot Wheelmouse owned, had it (a long time ago) before my Dual Optical, then MS 3.0.
A lot of guys who use MX300 prefer a cloth pad. Is it the same for you?

No, the sens is too random with a cloth pad. It gets damp from hand sweat and crap :) And with the moisture the friction is changed. Which is NOT good -.-

OK, which hard pad is best then? The one you have, or are you looking for another?

Icemat, to me, used it for 2 years. Haven't tried all of them, there are some new ones, like Steelpad, another one similar to Everglide only better, can't remember the name. And another one. But I forgot which :)

Have you removed the weight in the MX300? Do you use skatez?

No, I dig the weight. Tried skatez, wore out to fast, like in 2 weeks.

But I hear silicon spray is good. Have a friend who used it on his Everglide. It's still like new after 2 years! Which means you increase the lifespan with 1.99 years ^^

So true ;) Func lasts longer, but it's too slippery for my taste.

Back when I started playing Q3 I had a sucky cloth pad and a MS Explorer (ball). Totally crap setup, but somehow managed to play with it.

You participated in the duels at QLAN. Are you happy with your performance?

Faced drush in the first match, which was single elimination. Lost 2 maps in a row. But considering my practice and ambition in this competition I'm satisfied :)

The admins came to ask me to join, since I was seeded top 32, and they said their schedule would be whacked if I gave WO. So they said, "Come on, join up!" "Yeye, so add me then" :)

Hard to get that with demo freaks like fox in the team ^^ His demos are everywhere :)

Do you have a fixed role in the team? Like, are you the quad taker, and do you use it well? :PPP

We don't have a quad taker, the guy with the best weapons or armor takes it :) "Jag är biff, jag tar quad" [roughly, "I'm phat, I take the quad"] That's a quote I've heard 100 times. And said a couple times myself ^^

The future. iCE cLIMBERS are in the EC7 finals. Will you win? :)

If we meet some other clan than EYE, the ping will be our most dangerous factor, if we meet EYE, our laziness is our most dangerous factor :) There's like 3 LB matches still to be played first though.

Okay. You beat aAa a few days ago. Lots of emotion in those matches? ;)

Dunno, they got too much attention vs EYE, so it was time to shut them up is all. Couldn't believe they agreed to play with a 10ms worse ping, at first they wanted to play all the maps on a server where we had 30ms higher ping :)

Well, I've been playing GTA3 Vice City now pretty intensely. Doom3, HL2 and Q3 are the titles that you (not so unexpectedly) long for :)

Hmm, no, nothing, except maybe "<mec> ume > eye" ...

ume is a RA3 clan that played in the CA tourney about a month ago. EYE lost to ume then :)

Thanks to all the great players who gave me some of their thoughts, I hope the interviews turned out ok, even if they only cover a fraction of the stars in the Q3 universe... It's time for me to shut up now ;) atleast for a little while. Big phat mojos, I mean hugs ;P, to everyone who helps keep the Q3 Scene more active than ever! Here's hoping for an even cooler QLAN 2 (a pun? what's that?) and let's all pray the competition organizers get wise and bring the greatest fps game back where it belongs!
