Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (ET:QW) is a first-person shooter video game, and is the follow-up to Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. However, it is set in the same science fiction universe as Quake II and Quake 4, with a back-story serving as a prequel to Quake II. It is the second multiplayer-focused game in the Quake series (after Quake III Arena). Quake Wars features similar gameplay to Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, but with the addition of controllable vehicles and aircraft, asymmetric teams, much larger maps and the option of computer-controlled bots. Unlike the previous Enemy Territory game, Quake Wars is a commercial release rather than a free download.
The gamers wishes was to integrate bots on- and offline, and a tutorial trainingsmode (movies, tooltips), so Splash Damage had done it.
Enemy Territory: Quake Wars was developed by Splash Damage for Windows using a modified version of id Software's Doom 3 engine and MegaTexture rendering technology.
Two competition mods for Quake Wars are still in the works. First is a Promod by Splash Damage itself. It is not been released.
Second is the promising ETQWPro Mod from the community, there is only testing but no download yet.

Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars is a real-time strategy video game developed and published by Electronic Arts for the Windows, Mac OS X and Xbox 360 platforms, and was released internationally in March 2007. The direct sequel to the 1999 RTS title Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun by Westwood Studios, a now defunct company that was taken over and liquidated by EA in 2003, Tiberium Wars returns the Command & Conquer series to its roots in the Tiberium story arc of the franchise, once again featuring the factions of the Global Defense Initiative (GDI) and the Brotherhood of Nod (NOD), and also introducing a new extraterrestrial faction known as the Scrin.
Tiberium Wars takes place in the year 2047, at the advent of and during the "Third Tiberium War" when the Brotherhood of Nod launches a worldwide offensive against the Global Defence Initiative; abruptly ending seventeen years of silence and crippling GDI forces everywhere. With the odds tipped in the Brotherhood's favor this time, GDI field commanders rally their troops and begin to combat Nod's second re-emergence, trying to restore lost hope.

Dreamhack Summer is taking place from June 14th~17th at Elmia, Jönköping, Sweden.
No confirmation has been released to what official tournaments will be taking place but the rumours are that QuakeWorld will feature again in the list.
"Dreamhack, the world’s largest computer festival, featured a QuakeWorld 1on1 tournament in their Winter 2007 event. Since it turned out to be quite successful, it seems that the event organisers have given QuakeWorld another chance to be part of the official tournaments. Dreamhack’s next event, scheduled to take place June 14th - 17th, is most likely going to have at least a 1on1 tournament for Quakeworld. Additionally, we have also received note about rumours concerning a possible 2on2 tournament to be held there as well."
More information and registration dates will be posted when known.

During QuakeCon 2007, id Software's John Carmack announced that they have a second team working on a free web-based Quake 3 Arena adaptation, tentatively called Quake Zero. Quake Zero how ever was just the working name and is now known as Quake Live!.
Quake Live is still in the development stage but you can "have your say" in ESReality's Quake Live forum where SyncError, id PR, will be keeping users updated and taking note of suggestions.
It was released on October 18, 2005, for Windows and ported by Day 1 Studios to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The first expansion pack, F.E.A.R. Extraction Point, was released by Timegate Studios in October 2006. The second expansion, F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate, was released in November 2007. A direct sequel was announced by Monolith Productions.
F.E.A.R. Combat is the complete multiplayer component of F.E.A.R. and the two addons, includes all the updates, additional official maps and additional official game modes all in one downloadable file. F.E.A.R. Combat users will be able to play against the owners of the retail versions of F.E.A.R. as well as the other F.E.A.R. Combat users.
F.E.A.R. Combat features:
- 10 Multiplayer Game modes
- 22 Multiplayer Maps
- 12 different weapons
- Punkbuster support for anti cheat support
- The capability to download user generated content
To access and play F.E.A.R. Combat, simply go to www.joinfear.com and register to obtain your free Combat CD-key and download your free game files.
I found roundabout 300 international online game servers through Xfire and GameSpy Stats. Mostly played game modes are FFA, TDM and CTF.
Punkbuster will be no longer supported, but will still work. Community created a few custom maps, these maps are directly downloadable from servers, but there not often played.
The gameplay is very simple like Soldiers of Fortune 2, you win when you shoot at the right time.
Two other elements to the game can help to stay alive and do a frag.
First the use of collected medicpacks. Some Medipacks you can carry around. If you are in fight or after that you can heal through the packs immediatly. Second there is a little physical fight system, besides standard "fast hitting with the gun", you can use your fists and legs to attack.
The sound system has some issues. Sometimes it is difficult to say where the enemy is. You hear him but you can´t say where direction its from. But in time its a feature.
For a good sight and more FPS, do a low pc profile in the menu like low graphical settings and low screen resolution. All config related settings can do only over the game menu.
Btw there is no demo recording function, and thats really sad and oout of time to haven´t this feature in a FPS.
Because there is no demo function in FEAR we can only see videos.

Team Fortress 2 is a multiplayer team-based first-person shooter, developed by Valve as part of the game compilation The Orange Box. The game was announced in 1998 as a sequel to the original Team Fortress mod for Quake, but has since been through various concepts and designs. In 1999, the game appeared to be deviating from the original Team Fortress and Valve's own Team Fortress Classic mod for Half-Life by heading toward a more realistic and militaristic style of gameplay, but the design metamorphosed further over the game's nine-year development and game engine switch. The final rendition of Team Fortress 2 bears more resemblance to the original Team Fortress and Team Fortress Classic games, and sports a cartoon-like visual style.

augustus from linuxhardware.org caught up with icculus to find out what the hold up is with releasing the linux server and client for UT3.
icculus: it's stuck in legal
Legal? Seriously? Have you had legal involved in previous games?
icculus: Not like this, no. There's some issues with middleware
so is the hold-up indefinite?
icculus: Not indefinite. The politics should be worked out for the server soon, I'm removing the offending piece of code.
And the client?
icculus: That's going to take somewhat longer
From the sound of it, there is no ETA then?
icculus: I'm not committing to one
I understand. Seems like it's quite out of your hands.
icculus: If I told you what the specific problem is, you wouldn't believe me
* icculus declines to say more. :)
