you should rather look into g100s direction, I've used kana v2 for the last 3 months and couldn't really get used to it, g100s feels really better

honestly even if the sensor is okay, steelseries mice have always felt like shit. the buttons are hard to press, the mouse feet never felt as smooth as hyper glides, the mouse cords are always really thick, firm, and heavy. in addition, most of their mice are overly heavy (100g+) and the plastic always feel really low quality. whether it be the Kanas, the kinzus, or the xais, they have all felt like low quality products. I go and pick up a g100s and Iget nnone of the problems I would have with steelseries.

forget them, find something made by a company that actually cares about the physical quality of their products.

Buttons feel extremely soft. Feet are fine (name ONE company that has better or on par feet as hyperglide). Cord is braided, but soft and flexible. Weighs <80g. If you hate the feel of plastic, get the rubber version.

Installing the kana v2 firmware update for the steelseries engine is the only way to make it recognise the mouse but while installing it froze a couple of times plus when u do have it installed it doesn't recognise the mouse sometimes.

Its relatively new so hopefully they will fix it.

Happened to me as well, I had to reinstall the firmware and also the driver and I'm getting my new PC soon, hope this shit won't happen again!

what glides? how good its compared to zowie mice?

My opinion is maybe not very good, so don't take it too seriously, I can't really compare to Zowie mices, I never owned one, BUT I tried them for short periods of times (few days and weeks) due to friends and family, but I would say the Kana v2 seem as solid as the EC1 and FK (I only tried these two). I had Logitech mices, and as I told you in another post I also have 2 DA the first and the 3.5, I don't know what you think about the build quality of DA but I don't think that Kana v2 < DA, my DA never broke by the way. Maybe it also depends on the person (I clean my keyboard etc everyday xD and when I take flights/train or travel in general I always have special stuffs to protect hardwares).

The glides I can't really talk, I only use cloth pads, don't most mices glide pretty much the same way on cloth? I don't know maybe someone can respond. But with the weight it's easy to move it around honestly, I don't think the skates under the Kana v2 are higher or lower quality, they are just good.

hmm... imo DA is pretty poor and easy to break. ;p I'm asking because 1st edition looks for me preety garbage, and glides some kinda plastic. So would like to see something better this time. I don't have kana v1 but tried it for a while. ;p

Just got myself one of those. LOD is not as bad as people say. Can play without any tape fix whatsoever. Didn't measure it yet, but it doesn't feel wrong in any way in games. Shape is 'okay', feels better than Abyssus but probably just because it doesn't have the glossy sides like Abyssus had. Fits well with fingertip.

Build quality is decent, the cord seems stiff and with my lowsens it can be pretty annoying. Buttons require not much pressure to press, but enough not to click randomly in stressful moments. Side buttons are not so good, Especially the left one, dunno why but I press it on accident all the time. LMB and RMB and really good, very responsive. I don't know how to feel about the scroll wheel, it feels really 'light' but my Abyssus had a broken one so I have no comparison.

The one problem with the Kana v2 is Steelseries Engine. Been fighting this software for hours, when it finally detected my mouse just to find out that it only has like 2 options. Also, when setting your dpi keep in mind that what real dpi that the mouse uses is slightly lower than what is stated in the program. For me and my 400 dpi setting the actual dpi of the sensor would be around 380dpi.

Other than that it's just a good mouse. No accel, no prediction, reliable and good looking (cuz that's obviously what matters).

can you say to me HOW YOU FIX recognizing kana v2 in SSE? i just need to swith dpi for 400. but it impossible with this stupid soft.

SSE is crap. Install - do the recognizing process if it doesn't work, uninstall SSE. Reinstall - same thing. Do this as long as it's not working... it worked for me. Sigh.

I don't know, I didn't make tests to see which ones are most stable etc. I use 1600 because I play many different games and it allows me to make proper sensitivity settings with all games. I would use 4000 but I think it will be too high for some games.

However, it is noted that the DPI settings listed may be slightly off from the actual DPI settings. When using enotus, it seemed to me that the 4000 dpi register felt like a 3600, and the 1600 registry felt like 1400 in testing. Possibly they did this in order to subjectively obtain 8 different DPI settings through interpolating up or down. Users will have to adjust accordingly to what they're usually used to and game a bit before allowing the subjective difference to set in.

nope, black - i hear the white one is a tad slippery, the surface is smoother, plus i figured it would be dirty as hell after a month or so.

kana v2 is slightly less snappy than zowie fk
but the kana v2 has a lot nicer shape imo

I don't understand how it can be "less snappy" when both of them use the same sensor.. doesn't make sense. (both use the 3090)

I'm a noob when it gets too technical so of course I can be totally wrong, but when I read people saying stuffs like the height and position of the sensor I guess it can affect how the mice can be more or less snappy, no?

It's excellent! first mouse I don't really have any complaints on after owning about 16 different mice.

I was concerned about liftoff prior to purchasing this mouse about 3 weeks back, but the liftoff is actually very low on my q-pad with the latest firmware.

kana v2 reminds me of the cm spawn without the sideways mounted sensor, extremely high liftoff and horrible shape and buggy behavior with VOIP software.

I love mice with high lift off distance. It makes the mice track better and if you ever lift the mouse by accident you don't have messed up tracking or have the tracking cut out all together. Mice aren't heavy so I don't have any trouble lifting mine a cm or less off the cloth.

Tape trick has be around for a very long time. The LOD doesn't bother me with the Kana v2 I use it just the way it is by default, but if you prefer a low LOD then I understand too.

Can anyone else confirm if it has 380-750 dpi steps instead of 400-800? A friend of mine tested it in all possible ways in ql,software etc and it always turned out to be accurate 400-800.

Its just Variance due to LED and Assembly, CPI are rarely spot on.

Ye i understand that just the ammount of % in dpi inacuracies varies from mouse to mouse still. Example: latest revisions of WMO 1.1 were known to have significantly higher then 400 dpi like around 440-450 on most mousepads, or Logitech G100S being ~950 instead of 1000 etc

I have used two programs to measure out the dpi of my wmo and ime 3.0. I believe someone may have changed it somehow or it is just a coincidence.
