apart from that, agent must have agreed on that server or the match wouldn't have been started in the first place.

I'm not agreeing as I wasn't a part of that conversation. Just saying that saying something like "Oh, k1llsen is German, he will only play on German servers and admins won't let him play anywhere else" wouldn't be correct.

seems like agent only wanted a russian server. So no split games between servers. And no poland / swedish / etc.
Even though the admins would've probably allowed solutions like that (can't be sure)

His lower ping outside Russia is 60 on DE and NL. On PL or SWE it's even worse. On RU he got 5-6ms tho.

On a more serious note, I do not like the fact how G-Data is silent about announcing their expected 2v2 wekkly tourney, this could even be the first sign to not continuing to support quakelive at all with these cups, which would be sad indeed. But I cannot feel like that comparison between signups and\or even viewer numbers is justified - after all, the quake community is an old and elitist one, we're more likely to know we do not have a chance in a cup like this and definitely are more likely to buy products than the random 14-yearold watching SC2.

He said its going to be longer tournaments (one tournament lasting 1-2 months) instead of weekly one day cups, also gdata (anti virus company) has nothing to do with this anymore, they just have a different sponsor (afaik anyway).

I cant remember now, is the ESH Saphire challenge the first one? Else they're silent about these bigger tournaments too :)

Yes, as i have quit my job in the company that is behind the ZOTAC & GData Cups i think it will take a bit until they have found a replacement to bring the community new Quake Live Cups. I sent them the result of the vote i have put online here and i hope they will make the best out of it.

I do not know how it is in that company but seeing as most companies around are slow on these things, not to put you on the spot as it's their job (feel free to ignore\bash me if I'm being too needy here, I'm grateful for your prior work anyway), but have you tried\considered recommending someone if there is anybody you know, or just asking a few people on irc\esr about the job opportunity? I for one would love that kind of job but I lack the experience and constant timelines for doing something like that unfortunately :(

There are a lot of people who could do that for quake but my job was to run all kinds of other tournaments as well. Every weekend i was responsible for running a wc3, sc2, fifa and quake tournaments, most of them parallel to each other while having several cups that were running over a long term like CM Storm the Front (DotA, CoD 4), Ubercharge (TF2), KODE5 Germany (CS 1.6) and many more. You have to write weekly reportings to your partners as well, doing marketing and product management stuff, not many people who can do that job for the money you earn in eSport =/
