Help with "new page for 3 games" layout (12 comments)

Hi,

Suppose that someone want to create a new page related to Q3/QL, Warsow, Reborn. I have huge headache about main layout. I always like the "esr news layout" but i also like the colors and some part of the sk-gamming.com website.

But this is not matter: what you think about a layout for this kind of site ? Can you post an examples of good esports-realted website with a nice layout ?

Elements of the site:
- Logo, News, Small Ads, Live Streams, Latest Comments, Latest Threads, Latest Articles, Screen of the Week, Hall Of Fame

Features of the site:
- Adding news by anyone
- Adding Articles by anyone
- Forum, integrated with a main web site (same registration/login)
- Reply to comments
- a "+" system, just like ESR

Anything i miss ?

I really need you opinion and examples (even done with paint). Anyone want to try ?

header with logo and menu, primary column with content, secondary column with boxes for tools, links, news, ads, etc..., footer with menu again.

Since no one willing to help more i have other question:

1. How the "HALL OF FAME" is made ? Manual by admins or by popularity/comments etc ?

2. What is the formula of the "+" ? Some people who have more %, have more impact when they give "+". Pls post all math for this.

It is not the right time for it. It's not my goal to figure it out by myself and be happy. I just want to have a something that i can give to coder.

The hall of fame post's they're added to HOF by the admins..

And the [+] system is copyrighted, if you copy or use a very similar system, you will be sued.

I highly doubt the developers will give you the math for the + system, however if you google the subject on ratings/popularity, I'm sure you'll find something.

The point is: there is no good esport+quake+other site in poland. The one is cybersport.pl - look at it, just look. It's a worst site ive ever read//use/make comments/try to interact with community.

There is also no site/portal with comments system like here and a "+" without "-".

There is something that make this site running and alive for ovet 10 years - i want the same thing for polish portal !

that site doesnt look so bad tbh. but maybe there just isnt a real demand for a fast-fps exclusive site. hungary have kinda the same problem, we have 2 quake oriented sites mostly with weeks delayed content from esr with very little self-produced stuff done half assed by a few people. cant blame them tho as the traffic on those sites are low to non-existant.

If we grab some people from FPS games, there is a chance that people will stay. I don't want to have DotA/LoL games - they all have dedicated sites.
