PlanetQuake3.net is reporting that the famous gamer IRC network EnterTheGame is being attacked again. I was able to speak with VD-Kat, a high ranking ETG admin to find out what's going on.

PlanetQuake3: According to the channel topic is says "we've been under attack". Another DoS attack?
VD-Kat: Starting at 8pm last night we got hit by a DoS attack so hard it took out the ISP'S backbone infront of us. Once we were down they attacked each and every one of our servers till the server admins had to set a null route to the server to save themselves.

PlanetQuake3: Has the FBI been notified?
VD-Kat: Yes, it has also been fully logged by Sprint. Sprint was finally able to block it at about 11am today.

PlanetQuake3: Have the attacks stopped or are they still occurring?
VD-Kat: They are still occurring but sprint is doing a good job of adjusting as they adjust the attack.

PlanetQuake3: Do you have any evidence this could be related to the past attacks by "phocus" in anyway?
VD-Kat: To be totally honest, I don't think phocus is smart enough for the kind of attacks that are being done.

PlanetQuake3: When do you think operations will be back to normal?
VD-Kat: It's going to be a very long weekend, but we are looking at being able to host are normal high users Monday night. That's 18k+. We will come through this, we always do. For community feelings you can check this out.
