Excellent work, lives up to its predecessors. Original style and the music is...different but totally works and synced too. Nice frags, mainly air-rockets so perhaps it could have done with some variety. The jump sequence at the end is worth the download on its own.

not my taste...the slowmo all the time takes the speed off the scenes ( also reduces the number of them ), the music doesnt fit the action and the extern cam is not that impressive, 2 !

the 2nd badge is by far my favourite, but still this vid is great work, well, just not in the same way as v2.0 was.

ok, the musik is teh sux, the slomo is teh sux, there shud be a hud in an .avi movie, looks more real, real frags are a lot better than faked ones :).. dunno if those are, but id say they are.
however, the effects the editing is really nice, i would like to have those skills and make a real movie out of real matches from tournaments..
so go ahead and waste ur skills on those demos jannis.

Very nice movie it ozes with quality, some superb recams and effects used and done professionally, however the soundtrack brings it down and the whole movie fells like an intro to slow paced. The best ive seen from the badge is the first soundtrack/firsthalf of the badge2 movie that was completely entertaining.

i dont think the frags being staged or not matters, i watch q3 movies for entertainment value, to see games with huds and actual online match frags i'll watch a demo. Whats the point of making a movie without special effects etc?

I agree. If you want to see just the frags with HUD etc., download a demo. I see no reason to make videos that are just like the demo.

Not my point. If u have lots and lots of GOOD demos, then u make the video. Why?
Its not worth to watch a whole demo to see only *a great frag* on it. with a movie u can put all those great frags together. Then u add some cool music to give the feeling. Thats what makes the difference btw movies IMHO. The demos ARE the source of every quake3 movie. Thats a fact. A good editing can make up them, and do it more interesting, but if the frags of the demos are bad, staged, or botted, then i dont like it. My opinion. I respect it can be interesting for other pple see a good editing and nothing else.

Other thing: It would be even easier to take some REAL good frags made by pros, like #11 said, it would be REALLY HARD to make a better video

Then, any video without a good editing have been done without any reason? the HUD is optional, but it can add intensity in vids. i remember zeatrix in his "Newbie Action" with 1-5 health about to be killed by some QPO member, avoding the shots and making a frag. Great work! I havent seen Badge 2 or 1 but this is the best effects in a quakie movie I've seen. It does not have the as high feeling as the Fooze movie mostly because of the poor frag material. But even staged frags in warmup mode gets cool with these effects!

Suggestions:
Keep up the good work, ie nice editing and effects.
Real frags, many players collect cool frags them selves but don't have time/patience to make movie later. Get their demos!
Not too much slow motion. Quake is a fast game!

and damn: stop those "botted" comments !

it would be a good idea to release a demopack to stop those comments and make a lotta pple (me included) stfu. =)
dont confuse, i really like and appreciate the AWESOME editing and effort put in this video, but the frags ruin it =(

Who cares about "hud to make frags more realistics" ? That's what demos are for. Movies like this are supposed to bring what demos cant, things such as synch'ed music, nice visual effects.

Very nice, i'm waiting for v.4.0! Next time try to combine the fast-paced action from v.2.0 with the great effects / atmosphere from v.3.0.

hmmmm, i must say 3.0 is my favourite of the three so far, mainly as the theme and design was so origional, even the slow-motion was good as it gave a kinda super hero effect, especially where ir0n c0ck makes two short range air rox kills with a 180 turn between them while in mid air, fucking beauty :)))

the introduction to 2.0 was great, but the addition of the kinda on-board-computer effects in this one were amazing.

Where can i get badge 2? I loved the movie, great effects, editing, and pov. I didnt care too much for the music, but I did like the slowmotion because its easier to show to friends who dont play q3 but play video games.

I haven't viewed the movie yet, I am still in the process of downloading. But I will say before hand, I know this will be of good if not great quality. Keep up the work. You influence more and move alot of people who play Quake III arena. I extend my thanks on behalf of the q3 community.

Put together beautifully, I have even managed to convince UT players to watch it :) Definetly the best game video in terms of composition but maybe a bit less original than say, XSUnreality or Fooze. Could have done with a little more variety in presentation rather than the 3 themes it has; plus maybe a composition of ingame sound playing quietly in the bg; but they're only small gripes. Keep up the good work :)

Suggestion: Ask people for demo's of great frags and the time they occur and compile a movie from them (one frag per person). It'd be great to see 'The definitive Q3 movie' with this composition talent; and frags by the people from many gametypes. Even a n00b will get at least one frag to be proud of so it should be fair game for anyone :)

People asking for guides...
Putting a video together is actually pretty easy, doing it well is another story and not something that can just be dumped in a tutorial. Find a tool that puts together bmp's or jpg's (such as pjbmp2avi) and voila. Check the credits to some movies (including Badge 3) for software etc (Adobe AFX and Premiere are most common).
