i was working nights, midnight till 4 mainily when in college that really messed it up for me

err nothing could possibly motivated me as much, school wise, as when i'm working in the goddamn fish factory during summer time. Makes me work harder during school indeed.

in computer science related work (my job) there's not much need for a formal education
what's more important is the knowledge and experience i have

having said that - i don't regret 5 years spent in university - i had lots of fun there :p

I lost motivation for any kind of work many years ago. Not that I don't know stuff, I just cba to utilize it.. Kind of sad :/

if you'll always desire for more, you'll probably never get satisfied with what you have now

Same here. When I was still at University getting a certain degree was always a good motivation.

Depends on what kind of work we're talking about I guess, when I graduated last year I never thought I'd get my motivation back due to my last melancholy months in school where not even Susan Ward would be able to spark me. Then eventually I got a job in the "home help" business and I'm quite active during the days, visiting almost 15 people a day and that keeps me alert. I can't think of myself working in an office cause that'd make me lazy.

web programming, though lately it's just dhtml + xml/xsl
mostly repetitive stuff that makes me want to look for another job
