man, why use metal in just about every bloody frag movie?
for a start, its shit music!
it would be a greater challenge (and in the end result look alot better) to use some other genre of music.
im still waiting for a frag movie which uses something like Hard house/hard trance, hardcore or something, something very fast. even faster than the ones which use D&B.

for a start, its not even music!
it would be a greater challenge (and in the end result look a lot better) to use some propper
music.
im still waiting for a frag movie which uses something like deathmetal/blackmetal, thrash or
something, something very fast. even faster than the ones which use speedmetal.

go for some new approach - for some slo-mo parts use "contempt" perf. by naked city (you may find it under john zorn in kazaa et. al.) from the same album - titled "naked city", wow - the version of "a shot in the dark" could be nice.
also on the rather epic side "rosemary's baby" by fantomas on their "director's cut" wouldn't be bad either.
If you'd be able to obtain it - although I rather doubt it - "same old me" by fred frith on his "step across the border" is unbelievable too and may be worth to be tried.
the mentioned idea of some classical music seems nice too - beethoven's 5th and maybe alban berg's "march" from, well, I'd say: "three pieces for orchestra" would work.
as I don't make movies it's hard to say how those tracks would blend in with the pictures, but maybe it's worth a shot.
Slipknot - Gently (IOWA VERSION ------> IMPORTANT!!!) ps, before going, "slipknot, must be shit, please dnload just this song. it is highly instrumental and great for a quake movie
Amon Amarth - Where Slient Gods Stand Guard
Amon Amarth - Thousand Years Of Opression
Amon Amarth - ...And Soon The World Will Cease To Be
Amon Amarth - Death In Fire
Arch Enemy - Enemy Within
At The Gates - The Flames Of The End
At The Gates - Suicide Nation
At The Gates - Cold
At The Gates - Blinded By Fear
Metallica - Damage Inc.
Metallica - Battery
These could all work excellently with a quake movie. and are worth the dnload anyway even if they dont fit the movie.
I've thought long and hard about songs for quake movies, because there was a point in time where I wanted to make one. Songs that fit into tdm themed Music:
Rage Against the Machine - Take the Power Back
It just seems like the perfect come back quad song.
Korn - It's on
Sounds like quake to me? "I don't wanna play..."
"it's what I like" "can't keep from falling.."
Any static-x song, they have the same beat in every song, and it's exactly the same as strafe jumping.
There is a DnB producer in South Africa named playtek, his earliar stuff was really fuckin' hardcore, and some of his tracks would go very nicely.
Chop Suey - SOAD, I actually wanted to make into a short anime I wanted to make. I started with a screenplay and some rough drawings, but I got heavily involved with college and now I'm working.
The changes in tempo's would make an entertaining quake movie, but the words and the mood has nothing to do with quake.
We're in this together - NiN
Another tdm type song.
Tool - 3rd Eye
Will be really cool for a long experimental/conceptual movie about a player that can just "know" like LakermaN and thresh in the past.
I havent heard any rage against the machine on movies, tho i dont dload them alot. Their first album had some nice songs but ur gonna have to cut to the best parts.
just d0nt MTV on us :>
