As long as you can go back to your team's location before enemy team reaches them, deaths don't matter in this game. And tracer is good at that )

Also I get matched against ppl like zero4 or c9 kyky etc in quick play.

Sorry what I wanted to say was, you should
take 1v3 or 1v4 fights as much as possible as tracer.
If you kill one of their healer or tank, I think you can actually die because you will be back to the point faster than them. Also they don't want to push without a healer or tank.

And I get matched up with bromas and harry hook, while solo queuing, so im not a scrub either (which is hard to be in OW imo, but thats another story)

So we have different interpretations on the tracer playstyle, I guess. I see it as a class that flanks, finishes off retreating/weak targets and goes for keypicks (healer/tanks, as you said).

Anyway, I highly disagree with "deaths dont matter in this game", and as a player whos used to team-games (you played tf2, like me, didnt ya?) you should acknowledge that. A big team fight, and you get picked? That starts a chain reaction, you should know that.

i have played tf2 but its just random pub koth games only, so i have no knowledge about tf2 team work etc.

but anyway, here is my point.

if you force 3 or 4 of them (or the entire team) to fight against you near their spawn point, or locations that are kinda far from the payload / capture point,
you already win even if you dont get a kill and just die.

and here is the reason.

1. so you forced them to fight outside of the objective. means they spend their time outside of the object while your team spend time on the objective.
2. lets say you did not get a kill and die after 3 blinks 1 rewind and 1 blink. (well you can just die after 1 blink. does not change my point)
3. now they will go to the objective.
4. now you wait for the spawn and go back to the objective.
5. before they reach to the objective, you are already back to the objective.
6. so fight on the objective is still 6v6.
7. now lets say you killed someone like their mercy in step #2, and you died. that forces enemy team to wait for their mercy to group up again, which takes longer than you to get back to group up with your team.
8. you successfully let them waste their time while your team lost nothing.

this is the reason why I think deaths dont matter in this game,
but i needed to add a few words.

deaths dont matter in this game "as tracer when you die at locations where the time enemy team takes to get to the objective is longer than the time you(tracer) take to get to the objective.

when it comes to the fight on the objective, story is different, but as long as you kill 1 (especially healer or tank, and tracer is good at killing them right?) before you die, the point still kinda stands. (kinda. you know what i mean)

what do you think?

Btw I'm talking about quick play with random people and no plan.
I don't wanna play defensively and not focus on the objective in order to maintain high kdr.
I will try to kill more with the aggressive playstyle though unless I find this logic is wrong.

Yea, that actually sounds good. What you basically do is deep flanking, diverting and being a nuisance, which plays to the strengths of the tracer

My only concern with that would be that it could get a little predictable, but it is hard to counter anyways.

Yeah, you need to make sure to kill people in 6v6 fights or in some other situations.
But other than that, just being annoying to delay them and dying is not bad.
Most of the time I still try to kill at least one of them though.
I mean, nothing is better than winning 1vs6 fights. )

In most solo quick play games that deep flanking playstyle with a tracer, or even a genji or reaper, often has no answer. People don't communicate and they don't help each other and you continue to pick up kill after kill.

ya that is also what I often see.
but more than that, i see a lot of people +back and dont push to the objective for some reason.
that allows them to group up. they still dont make a big push until the last 30 sec though.
looks like they like to survive more than winning the game. but idk why.

on attack side, i tend to spend more time on the objective because people dont push (check my 45.85 avg objective time which is 15+ higher than most tracers)
on defensive side,i tend to spend my time for what i have written here coz they dont push, and i want to improve my combat skills. so I will have easier time when i play with a real team and strat.

but yeah i agree.
its quick play and it does not mean a lot.
